Leadership In The Age Of Disruption Dipti.Srivastava @timesgroup.com T he dignitaries present at the Foundation Day and National Management Day celebrations of All India Management Association (AIMA) deliberated on topics relevant in today's age of disruptive changes. The guest of honour, Rahul Bajaj, Head of Bajaj Group of Companies, and Former Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), in an interaction with TV Mohandas Pai, President, AIMA, and Chairman, Manipal Global Education Services Pvt. Ltd, stressed that 10 years down the line he would want to see poverty and inequality going down, bringing in more happiness in India. Earlier, Sanjay Kirloskar, Vice President, AIMA, and Chairman and Managing Director, Kirloskar Brothers, introduced the guest of honour. Rekha Sethi, Director General, AIMA, presented her introductory remarks. Harshavardhan Neotia, Senior Vice President, AIMA, and Chairman, Ambuja Neotia Group, concluded the inaugural session. While delivering his JRD Tata Corporate Leadership Award Lecture, Nandan Nilekani, Non-Executive Chairman, Infosys Ltd, spoke about how Indians are going digital; how India is making businesses GST compliant; and how Indians are becoming data rich. He said that data wealth is turning into real wealth. In another session, Adi Godrej, Chairman, Godrej Group, and Sunil Kant Munjal, Immediate Past President, AIMA and Chairman, The Hero Enterprise, addressed the audience. Delivering a lecture on leading family businesses in the age of disruption, Adi Godrej said that typically family businesses underperform during economic expansion and they do better than the rest during economic contraction because they have leaner cost structures and they are quicker to react to threats and opportunities. Philanthropy is a way of life for Anshu Gupta, founder, Goonj, who talked about how things have changed over the years and what it takes to give back to the society. Akhil Bansal, Deputy CEO, KPMG in India, also addressed the gathering. On the occasion, the Foundation Day souvenir and AIMA 60-Year Special Report were also released.
