“Students have a good attitude to learning.”Ofsted
As I write this, I have just completed two years as chair of Evelyn Grace’s Governing Board of Governors. Like all my fellow governors, I am very proud indeed of what our school can offer its students and the communities it serves.
This is partly because it has such excellent
facilities for teaching, learning, sport, music, art
drama and dance. However, more importantly,
it is because it provides precisely the kind of
caring, supportive and secure environment, which
will enable all of our students to reach their full
potential. Above all, it is because of the absolute
commitment of all our staff to Evelyn Grace’s
mission and thus to our students’ education,
welfare and personal development.
Evelyn Grace has superb resources - teachers,
support staff, senior team and facilities - to provide
our students with an excellent education; with
opportunities to broaden their horizons and enrich
their lives; and with pathways to challenging and
rewarding careers.
This was amply confi rmed by our last Ofsted
report, which rated us ‘Good’ by Ofsted. It
confi rmed that Evelyn Grace is a well-led and
governed school, which offers its students
opportunities to develop and progress - whatever
their talents, needs or abilities.
We now plan to do everything possible to ensure
that, when Ofsted next inspect us, we are rated
‘Outstanding’. Our students deserve nothing
less. My fellow Governors and I will certainly do
everything we can to support the Principal and
his staff so that our wonderful school will become
even better in the years to come.
I hope you fi nd the prospectus useful and I look
forward to welcoming you and your children to
Evelyn Grace Academy.

for future study or work.
Our goal is for each student to leave the academy
equipped with the qualifi cations, knowledge
and skills to lead successful lives and take a lead
in whatever role they fi nd themselves. We are
determined that students leaving EGA will be
responsible, eloquent citizens with the resilience,
integrity, confi dence and curiosity they need to
do well in the University or career of their choice.
At Evelyn Grace Academy we believe that the learning experience should help to develop the leaders of tomorrow.

Building fi rm foundations in English and Mathsenables students to do well. A focus on British valuesis embedded in all years. A levels and STEM subjects(Science, Technology, English and Maths) allows studentsto gain places at the best universities.
Throughout their time at Evelyn Grace Academy
students follow a broad and challenging academic
programme. At KS3 students have opportunities to
learn at least one modern foreign language, one of
which is Mandarin. We also teach Philosophy, and
Careers education begins in Year 7.
We offer an increased timetable for English,
Mathematics and Science that ensures students
are able to achieve a wider breadth of success at
Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11).
As students move into Key Stage 4, all follow
individualised pathways that typically lead to
between 8 and 10 GCSEs.
Our Sixth Form curriculum focuses primarily
on the most academic A Levels that allow
students to gain places at the best universities.
AssessmentWe assess students’ academic progress regularly
and frequently. Accurate and thorough assessment
is essential to ensure that students are placed
in the most suitable groups with appropriate
challenge and support.
Formal assessments take place each half term
and parents are informed of their child’s progress.
Students, teachers and parents all know exactly
what steps are needed to move each child to the
next level of success.
Parents/carers are invited to attend parents
evenings when parents are informed about their
child’s academic progress and where we agree
targets for future learning.
“Lessons in the academy are characterised by high
