In 1950, when Kwame Nkrumah was preaching positive liberation from Britain, he was jailed. He was in for a good amount of time. On February 12, 1951, he was released from jail. They released Kwame because they wanted him to lead newly formed government. Until Kwame Nkrumah came around, Ghana was called The Four Territories of the Gold Coast. Kwame was one of the biggest activists for liberation. He was the one who freed Ghana in 1957. When he helped gain this freedom, he helped the economy majorly. He helped build schools, railways, hospitals etc. During this, Kwame showed perseverance. Even when he was knocked down and put in jail, he got back up and kept going.

The day that Ghana gained their freedom was the day that they were free forever. Kwame gave a greatly rounded speech that same day that was not even written down. It was on March 6, 1957 in Accra, Ghana. It was mostly the towns people there and reporters. It was packed. Kwame Nkrumah talked about the people who helped and how they are free forever.
