Are you interested in gaining a scout activity permit? It’s a great opportunity
to gain leadership experience and build on
everything you have learnt throughout your
Scouting journey. It’s incredibly flexible and fits around other commitments. You’ll gain new skills and also help many others experience these activities too!

LEAD
What would I need to do?
But I don’t have the knowledge to do that…
How will I pay for it? It sounds like it would cost a lot…
Depending on the activity, you could try:
Ȕ Informally shadowing or supporting instructors, or those in roles such as Assistant County Commissioner (Activities).
Ȕ Gaining a National Governing Body (NGB) qualification in a specific outdoor activity (such as BCU qualifications).
Ȕ Gaining a Scouting permit to lead an activity (such as archery or dinghy sailing). Ȕ Becoming a Duke of Edinburgh Supervisor or Assessor (scouts.org.uk/dofetraining).
You have more knowledge than you realise. All that you’ve learnt while doing your activities will help you to support others.
There are a number of funding and grant options. For more information on the following, please visit the web links below:
