Lobster cardinal, chicken with truffles, and saddle of venison with grand‑Veneur sauce – for this new Year’s eve, the
café de la Paix ended the year in style with a sumptuous 6‑course menu which showcased the most sophisticated
seasonal delights. And all this took place against the backdrop of the wild roaring twenties, with a jazz orchestra
playing charleston classics throughout the evening. the glorious party carried on late into the night with dancing in the
hotel’s winter garden. 2011 has well and truly begun at the grand hôtel!

the Paris intercontinental Le grand has just been awarded the “green Key” label, a major independent international rating system for environmentally
responsible hotels. receiving the label is a reward for the hotel’s numerous successful efforts since 2007 to promote energy savings, recycling and reduction
of pollution.
these actions have enabled the Paris grand hôtel, over a two‑year period, to spectacularly reduce electricity, water and paper consumption by 18%, 26%
and 15% respectively. this challenge and its results are quite remarkable for a partly listed, almost 150 year‑old building covering 44,000 square metres.

gas reduction plan.

Stella Cadente, Max Chaoul, Antoniadis Erotokritos, Eymeric François, Tilmann Grawe, Christophe Guillarmé, Jean-Claude Jitrois, Olivier Lapidus, François Lesage, Didier Ludot, Raymond
in December, the grand hôtel organised its fourth consecutive annual “fashion christmas tree” exhibition. for this 2010 edition an imaginary forest of magical
and dreamlike animal‑themed christmas trees were designed by students of the ecole mod’Art international fashion design college, on the theme of “Wild
christmas”. christmas trees in the shape of birds or mushrooms, made of wool, paper or enamel: the expertise, imagination and creativity displayed by
tomorrow’s young fashion designers were plain to see. 17 designers (marc‑Antoine Barrois, Stella cadente, max chaoul, Antoniadis erotokritos, eymeric françois,
tilmann grawe, christophe guillarmé, Jean‑claude Jitrois, olivier Lapidus, françois Lesage, Didier Ludot, raymond massaro, rosemary rodriguez, franck Sorbier,
