LCMT Clay Milling Tower

TARUS has been building the CNC Clay MIlling Machines since 1986. Continuous improvements have been made resulting in a quiet, safe, reliable fixture for your Design Studio. To fulfill the request for a medium sized / high performance and 5 axis capability, TARUS developed the Light Clay Milling Tower (LCMT).

The LCMT Towers travel upon a machined steel base. Within the base are the bearing rails, pinion gear, power buss-bar and leveling elements for the machine. The top covers are ground steel, hard chrome plated and can be used as surface plates for modeling tools. Integrated surface plate, model lifting devices and CNC rotation tables are available optionally.

The LCMT Base and Columns are Modular. Base Sections are available in 3 meter increments and up to 4 LCMT Towers can be fitted to a rail assembly from 9 to 90 meters in length. Towers can be added later without the need for modifications to the existing rails. (no cable chains or hoses in rail or floor)

TARUS is proud to announce our new Siemens 840D SL based TARUS CNC System which incorporates a Simplified TARUS User Interface with the TPI CAM software for Tool-path Generation and a Wireless / Radio Connection to the Operator Station.

BlumTouch Probes mount directly into the milling spindle and can be used for part setup or point taking and Blum Tool Measuring Systems are used for Tool Length and Diameter Setting and Verification.

Torque Motor with 22.5:1 Gear Reduction for Powerful Positioning, 48 Nm each for A and C axes.

Change Cutter Angle without need to reset origin or cutter length (Direct Angle Feedback not relying on Motor Position Feedback)

Spindle: 4.4 kW S6, 5.4 Nm, 0-10,000 RPM, HSK32 Manual Clamp and Release, Quiet, Liquid Cooled Motor

Blum RF Probe mounts directly into Spindle when needed.
