Lake Central High School utilizes Skyward, an online program for requesting courses. Students are expected to collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents to create a high school plan that will not only fulfill Lake Central High School diploma requirements, but also provide a track towards college and/or career goals.

Required courses will be pre-loaded in your Course Planner based on recommendations that your current teachers have made. Students are encouraged to contact their teachers with questions or concerns regarding these recommendations. The courses below along with PE Gym and Pool are pre-loaded into each 9th grade student’s schedule.

Course Requests There are 7 potential “spots” to fill for each semester for a total of 14 for the school year. Each

class is either a semester-long (1 credit) or year-long (2 credit) course. English 9, for example, is a year-long course and takes up a one credit request for each semester. Bold courses/subject areas

are pre-loaded into the requests and are required to earn a diploma.

All students must request at least two alternate courses. If you plan to register for the Summer PE/Pool Lottery, you MUST have a minimum of FOUR alternate course requests (4 credits total) selected in Skyward. IF you win a spot for one or both summer classes, your counselor will then know what courses to replace your PE and Pool with in your course requests for next school year.

Alternate Courses

If, for some reason, this course does not work in my schedule or is not offered… Then I will take this!
