Why this program?To understand the value

that this program brings to

the student in terms of

meeting their immigration

aspirations, you need to

understand the available

immigration vehicles for

students into Canada and

their limitations.

Federal skilled worker

immigration:

Limitations: It has only

quota of 10,000 per year

with 21 designation and

maximum 500 for each

designation. Most of

them in civil and heath

care segment. So most

of Indian students are

not eligible to this modeland we can say almost

impossible.

Provincial nominee

program

Limitations: This is

employer driven stream.

Students have to figure

out employers who are

willing to sponsor PR for

them. Lot of studentscurrently going to

Saskatchewan province

to find the employer

who can help them with

PNP but the process

takes closely 3 years

and often employers

exploit the students in

work due to the student

dependencies.

Risks: If company

undergoes the process

of selling, merge,

takeover and

bankruptcy the PR file

will be rejected.

Canadian experience

class

Student after

completion of the 2 year

program they have to

work for Canadianemployer for 1 year

continuously full time in

NOC OAB. Its often

hard for student to find

job after the graduation.

Moreover they have to

meet the English

language (IELTS not less

than 6 in any and

overall 6.5) requirements

at the time of process.

Accounting Studies is a

vocational training

program that equips

students with hands-on skillsin accounting.

The program builds build

competencies related to

recording accounting

information, bookkeeping

and commercial

transactions leading to

entry level accounting

positions.

The program is offered over

4 semesters spread over 16months.

By the end of the program

students are ready to work

as accounting executives

in accountancy firms,accounting divisions of mid

to large sized firms and

banking and financial

institutions.

The program has a 95%

placement rate with

average hourly billing of $

18 - $ 22.

So what students are doing

today?

Most of them are studying 2

years, spending more than

$25,000 and obtaining 3

years work permit. Once

they get work permit

students are trying to find

job under NOC level OAB

categories but only 5% are

successful and the rest of

them look for alternatives.

While most of them are

going to Saskatchewan

province to find an

employer who can sponsor

them for Provincial

Nominee Program (PNP)

and enable their Canadian

Permanent Residency

processing.

Relocating to another

province means additional

relocation costs and risk of

unknowns (where will I

stay? will I find a job? will I

find a sponsor?). Even if

they find an employer,

there have been many

reported instances of

exploitation wherein the

students are paid less than

the hourly wage. Even

after going through all this

they are still not sure if they

would achieve their goal of

obtaining Permanent

Residency and even if they

do, the process takes 53

months (24 months of

study+ 6 months work+ 8

months PNP +15 months for

PR processing).

Looking at the student

hardships, Edu Edge

wanted to provide a

product with more

assurance to the students.

In this quest Edu Edge has

structure a partnership with

Lester B Pearson School

Board for Accounting

Studies DEP (Vocational

Diploma) as it is one of the

only programs that makes

students eligible along with

their studies to become a

Permanent Resident.

Why and how is this

possible?

Due to the aging

population in Quebec they

need resources in Finance

and Accounting. Quebec

immigration to fulfill this

requirement is supporting

such programs where the

province needs skilled

workforce in the future by

awarding immigration

points.

Accounting is one such skill

and students studying

accounting program are

eligible for 12 points.

These 12 points make allthe difference while filing

for Canadian immigration.

Fundamentally adding

these points to the grading

system makes the student

eligible for immigration.

The appeal of the program

students to enter into

workforce and be eligible

for Permanent Residency

visa and immigration

process compared to rest

of Canada but the

eventual outcome of the

process yields a pan

Canadian Permanent

Residency. There are two

significant add-on steps in

the Student Visa and

Immigration process.

At the admission stage,

student needs to process a

Qubec Acceptance

Certificate (CAQ). This is a

simple process which can

be enabled by educational

consultant.

The second and more

significant process step is

Certificat de slection du

Qubec (CSQ). This is a

prerequisite for Permanent

Residency processing and

needs to be obtained by all

residents of Quebec

province intending to

process Canadian

Permanent Residency.

Receiving a CSQ means

that Quebec province find

the student eligible and

suitable for long term

residency in Quebec,

Based on this a student can

apply for Canadian

Residency. The CSQ

application process would

be enabled by Edu Edge.

Indian students with a

Bachelors degree would

become eligible for CSQ

application processing

after 11 months of

education in Quebec.

Indian students with Post

Secondary education in

India would become

eligible for CSQ application

processing after 16 months

of education in Quebec.

Upon CSQ application,

CSQ is approved within 4

months and students are

eligible to apply for

Permanent Residency.

Based on current

processing time, it is taking

about 6 months to get

Residency CSQ approved

files. This means that an

Indian student with

graduate degree or post

secondary education who

has enrolled in this program

would get Canadian

Permanent Residency

along with or before

completion of the program.
