LAHAINA BAPTIST CHURCHMarch 2012
PASTOR CHRIS’ CORNERAloha kakou,
Easter is coming quickly and I want to take this opportunity to encourage you to get ready to engage our community with the Resurrection story again this year. Without the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we would be hopeless – but He changed our outlook from ‘hopeless’ to ‘filled with hope.’
With that thought in mind, let us prepare to share the hope with our community with a new focus and intentionality. Here are a few ideas that I have found to help us refocus on impacting our friends and neighbors with the message of the Resurrection:
1. Pray for 5 neighbors, for five minutes a day for five weeks.1
a. Make yourself a simple list of five people. Ask God to show you how to minister to them. Ask Him to speak to their hearts about His love for them. Ask Him to draw them to Himself.
2. Get involved in the ministry opportunities for Easter –
a. Attend the Easter choir events and greet and share with the others who attender.
b. Volunteer to help at the ‘He Is Alive’ Easter Outreach at Honokowai Beach Park and show that neighborhood that His love is real.
3. Invite others to hear and share in the Resurrection of Jesus.
a. Make a special invitation to your family and friends to join you for worship at LBC on Easter morning. Write them a letter, call them or make a visit to their home to personally invite them. Contact people that you know have been to church in past few years and make a personal invitation to them also.
Most people are willing to respond to some form of outreach about Jesus during the Easter season. This season is all about Jesus! His resurrection is our hope! Please step out and share this hope with others this year.
Mahalo again for the wonderful privilege that you have given me to be your pastor. I pray for God’s continued blessings on us all, as we grow closer to Him.
Until next month,Aloha in Christ, Pastor Chris

The Heart of Worship
Worship is a condition of the heart, not place, position, or presence. Although we can worship alone, meeting with other believers in corporate worship will enrich our lives and encourage our faith. The psalmist’s desire for experiencing God’s presence in Jerusalem with other believers was so great that he likened himself to a deer panting for water. Though isolated and oppressed by enemies, the psalmist showed confidence in God’s love and faithfulness and proclaimed who God is and petitioned His help. We, too, can be assured through His Word and be confident in God’s character and power to intercede on our behalf as we call on Him, continue to seek the truth, and live righteously for Him. Through worship we can celebrate who God is and what He has done in creation and in our lives. Our hearts can be filled to overflowing with thanksgiving for all of His blessings. Join us every Sunday at 9 in March as we get to the “heart of worship ” through our study of the Psalms. Study with us as we learn to magnify the Lord in worship and seek to align our minds and hearts to focus on who God really is.
Scripture for March:Psalm 92:4 New International Version (NIV) For you make me glad by your deeds, LORD; I sing for joy at what your hands have done.

Aloha Church Family:
I am so Thankful that the Lord con:nues to use me and my Family to share the Love of Christ with others. I am thankful that Pastor Chris allows me to share with the church family the important principles of Evangelism. I believe that Evangelism is one of, if not the most important messages in all the world. Have you ever thought about, what if NO-‐one shared their Faith with others? What if all Chris:ans, everywhere, kept this message to themselves? What a tragedy that truly would be.
As Chris:ans, we are a people sent by God to carry the message of God’s love, mercy and redemp:on through His Son Jesus Christ. This is missions at its core. God’s
missionary heart beats for all people to know and worship Him. And we have the privilege and responsibility of being chosen by God to take the gospel into the en:re world.
More than anything in the whole wide world, I wish that you would be allowed to share the Gospel message with others everywhere. Not only do I wish that you would be allowed to share with others, by I wish that you could teach others to teach others to teach others. We call this Discipleship. Disciples making disciples, and I think that Evangelism is the 1st step of Discipleship.
Evangelism is as easy as the
