Council Motion on TMO* The City Council approved a motion in November 2018 asking LAX to look
into the development of a Transportation Management Organization (TMO) for LAX as a potential solution to the transportation needs around and including the airport.
A TMO is an association formed to identify transportation management and transit options in a specific region and to develop policies and programs to encourage alternative forms of transportation such as public transit, carpooling and other programs
The motion asked that LAX report back on the strategy to develop a LAX TMO
Over the last several months, LAWA staff has accomplished the following:- Evaluated current rideshare programs offered to LAWA employees
- Worked with adjacent cities on development of Transportation Demand Management (TDM) programs serving LAX employees
- Surveyed LAX employers to determine what rideshare programs are already offered
- Developed a scope of services for an outside consultant to evaluate and potentially develop a TMO for LAX
