Subject:- Launching of Mission Swatchh Bharat.

Hon'ble Prime Minister has given a clarion call for ' Swachh Bharat' as a mass movement to realize Gandhi Ji 's dream of Clean India by 2019 which is 150111 birth anniversary of Mahatama Gandhi. In order to achieve the target of 'Swatchh Bharat', Hon'ble Prime Minister will launch the "Swachh Bharat Mission" and simultaneously administer pledge on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 211 ct October, 2014. In order to carry forward the message of "Swachh Himachal Swasth Himachal" the State Government has also decided to launch Swachh Bharat Mission. I am enclosing Swatchta Shapath (Pledge)-Annexure-A which is to be administered on 2nd October, 2014 at 9.45 AM to all officers/officials of the Department by the respective Head of the office.

In addition to above, a copy of Action Plan for observance of cleanliness campaign in Irrigation & Public Health Department under Mission Swatchh Bharat is also sent herewith to perform various activities indicated in the Action Plan accordingly and action taken report be submitted. / Encl:- As above. /. ,....

Action Plan for Observance of Cleanliness campa1gn 111 Irrigation & Public Health Deptt.

1. Constitution of supervisory team in every office of the Department.

Three Member team including a female member shall be constituted by head

of office for following activities:­

• The team will take a round of a premises daily for maintaining cleanliness.

• Removal of unwanted litter, papers, files, records, materials etc.

• All the corridors will be cleaned and sanitized.

• Placing of wheeled dustbins for organic and inorganic waste separately.

• All toilets will be cleaned and sanitized.

• Cleaning of all the utilities such as utensils, ceiling fans, ACs, Name Plates,

Window panes etc.

2. Cleaning of IPH Schemes/premises such as Pump Houses, water sources

intake, Hand Pumps/Public Stand post plateforms and storage tanks etc. by

field staff.

3. Organizing debate on the topic ''«l'iU ~ 3tR 3fl1l' and essay

competition on the topic ''«l'iU ~ ~ ~· by the Member

Secretary DWSM by coordinating with Education Deptt.

4. Taking Pledge by all the officers and officials at 9.45 AM on 2nd

October,2014.

5. All the officers and staff will move around in premises for ''«l'iUd I m' .

Swachhta Pledge

Mahatma Gandhi dreamt of an India which was not only free but also clean and developed.

Mahatma Gandhi secured freedom for Mother India.

Now it is our duty to serve Mother India by keeping the country neat and clean.

I take this pledge that I will remain committed towards cleanliness and devote time for this.

I will devote 100 hours per year that is two hours per week to voluntary work for cleanliness.

I will neither litter nor let others litter.

I will initiate the quest for cleanliness with myself, my family, my locality, my village and my work place.

I believe that the countries of the world that appear clean are so because their citizens don't indulge in littering nor do they allow it to happen.

With this firm belief, I will propagate the message of Swachh Bharat Mission in villages and towns.

I will encourage 100 other persons to take this pledge which I am taking today.

I will endeavour to make them devote their 100 hours for cleanliness.

I am confident that every step I take towards cleanliness will help in making my country clean.
