WKAR PBS Kids – Anytime, Anywhere Beginning Jan. 16New, free 24/7 multiplatform children’s services from WKAR and PBS will include a new TV channel, a live stream on digital platforms and, later this year, an interactive gaming feature. WKAR will broadcast PBS KIDS shows 24 hours a day on over-the-air channel 23.4* and participating cable systems (contact your provider for details), and offer a live stream online and mobile devices.

It's all aimed at making it easy for children to watch their favorite series during primetime and other after-school hours when viewing among families is high.

More News and More Classical Music Getting ready for a fresh start on the New Year, December brought some programming changes to 90.5 FM designed to bring more of what you have asked for. Now, music lovers can get an earlier start to their day, with classical music beginning at 9 a.m. weekday mornings. And, the Metropolitan Opera is back on Saturday afternoons.

For your afternoon drive time, Mark Bashore returns as your WKAR host for All Things Considered; AND, adds an additional hour, up to 7 p.m., to get you all the way home. You'll hear more Capital Region reporting from Brooke Allen, Mark and the WKAR NewsTeam during Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and throughout the day: on the air, online and in the NPR One app.
