3rd LATVIAN SUZUKI SUMMER WORKSHOP

DATES: August 5-10, 2019

LOCATION: Engure Music and Art School (Address: Skolas iela 10A, Engure, LV–3113, Latvia)

Engure is a small fisherman village near Riga Bay North-West coastline, about 70km from Riga Airport

WELCOME: Students learning to play violin, piano and cello according to Suzuki approach

DESCRIPTION: Workshop will offer individual and group lessons for Suzuki students, concerts, lectures

and Suzuki talks for parents, observation* for Suzuki teachers and teacher training course for Suzuki

teacher trainees.

Start: August 5 (Mon) – registration from 13:00, welcoming concert at 18:00

Courses: August 6-9 - individual and group lessons for students, concerts and teacher training courses for teachers according to the schedule. Students are expected to be able to play all the pieces without score up to their current piece.

End: August 10 – final concert at 10:00

Clothing: black pants or skirt, black or white shirt, dark shoes

Accompanying children under age 3 – free, if not requiring separate bed and food Accommodation and meals are included in this fee.

ACCOMMODATION: Engure boarding school for families (3-4 beds in the room, shared rooms, WC for every 2 rooms, showers in a ground floor) and Guest House „Villa Elizabete” (for faculty, Suzuki teachers and trainees) MEALS: 4 times per day, from dinner on August 5 till breakfast on August 10. TRANSPORTATION: Transportation will be organised from Riga Airport to Engure and back to the Airport. Please, indicate your need for transportation (how many places) in your application. INSURANCE: Insurance is the responsibility of each participant. The organizers exclude any liability. APPLICATION DEADLINE: 15 May, 2019 The number of participants is limited. The applications will be registered in the order of their arrival. After receiving your application you will be contacted via e-mail in regard of your payment. Your participation in the workshop will be confirmed after receipt of the payment. If you cancel your participation until 1 July, we will refund 50% of your participation fee. In case of cancellation after 1 July, no refund will be given. *Observation includes all lectures, children’s lessons and concerts. The teacher training sessions are open for observation only for those teachers who are currently enrolled in ESA training course or who have completed their training (ESA Level 5).
