There are few issues more in need of our united support than stopping the #1 killer of our nation’s teenagers: car crashes. While some states have tried individually to address this epidemic, Allstate believes that a federal law is needed to effectively reduce the number of teen driving deaths. SUPPORT THE STANDUP ACT OF 2009 The STANDUP Act* (H.R. 1895) creates a National Grad- uated Driver Licensing (GDL) law that: limits nighttime driving, reduces in-car distractions, puts a cap on the number of friends in the car and increases the required hours of training and supervision. When states have implemented comprehensive GDL programs, the number of fatal crashes among 16-year-old drivers has fallen by almost 40%. Let’s make sure the STANDUP Act doesn’t get buried, or nearly 5,000 more teens could. Tell your congressional representatives that you support the STANDUP Act of 2009. Go to allstate.com/STANDUP.
