    COMMUNICATION STRATEGY APPROACH

    Before a communications plan can be created, a strong strategy must first be in place. I leverage NWs current communication strategy documents of course, but wanted to share my mental process to developing the strategy. I have found that having this foundational approach centered by desired outcomes and guiding principles is a great framework that gains buy in and yields business results.

  • EmpathyI sense the emotions of those around me. I can feel what they are feeling as though their feelings are my own. Intuitively, I am able to see the world through their eyes and share their perspective.

    BeliefCore values affect my behavior in many ways. They give my life meaning and satisfaction; in my view, success is more than money and prestige. It provides me with direction, guiding me through the temptations and distractions of life toward a consistent set of priorities.

    DeveloperI see the potential in others. In my view no individual is fully formed. On the contrary, each individual is a work in progress, alive with possibilities. And I am drawn toward people for this very reason. They bring me strength and satisfaction. Over time many will seek me out for help and encouragement because on some level they know that my helpfulness is both genuine and fulfilling to me.

    ConnectednessWe are part of something larger. Some may call it the collective unconscious. My awareness of these responsibilities creates my value system. I am considerate, caring, and accepting. Certain of the unity of humankind, I am a bridge builder for people of different cultures. Sensitive to the invisible hand, I can give others comfort that there is a purpose beyond our humdrum lives.

    IntellectionI like to think. I like mental activity. I like exercising the muscles of my brain, stretching them in multiple directions.
