SPK is a large water content, gas fired, condensing boiler entirely in stainless steel AISI 316L, complete of modulating premix burner. In practice, it is the basic heating element that constitutes the extraordinary project MULTIINOX. A product able to redefine the concept of boiler. SPK for compactness and flexibility of installation, as well as for the silence of operation, is an alternative to the low water content boilers, both, floor standing and wall hung mounted, marrying all their advantages, that are translated in: • rapid amortization • high reliability in the time • simplified maintainability. The merits of the UNICAL low water content boilers are well known, but whereas the thermician recognizes the indispensability of the large water content, that means elimination of the primary ring and its pump, here is the SPK to fill a technological void. SPK is a large water content, gas fired, condensing boiler entirely in stainless steel AISI 316L, complete of modulating premix burner. In practice, it is the basic heating element that constitutes the extraordinary project MULTIINOX. A product able to redefine the concept of boiler.

The combustion SPK 116 is constituted by:• heat exchanger with vertical tube bundle, completely in

stainless steel • smoke pipe in stainless steel of 42,4 mm diameter, with

multi-fin self-cleaning inserts in Al/Si/Mg

The combustion is produced downward from the top. The flame develops in the combustion chamber, on which bottom the multi-fin pipes, slightly tilted, are engaged, for a better thermal exchange and functional outflow of the condensates. The produced condensate is collected in an underlying tray that acts as smoke chamber. The whole cycle happens under positive pressure for an easier evacuation of the smokes.

Premix burner Main protagonist for a perfect combustion and, therefore, an optimum efficiency, is the Modulating Fan (1000 to 6000 rpm) of which the boiler is equipped.

The number of revolutions per minute of the fan, together with the opening of the gas valve and the flame control, are directly programmed and checked by the electronics of the burner (BMM Burner Module Manager) and, at their turn, managed by the HSCP controller.

The modulation of the output depends on the number of revolutions of the fan, that vary, therefore, according to the temperature required by the C.H.system, the set point temperature and the actual measured temperature.

The opening of the valve gas is produced for “Venturi effect” in the fan COCHLEA and the mixture air and gas happens in its inside before being introduced in combustion chamber (premix). The combustion happens on the cylindrical burner surface made of special fabric in FeCr Alloy.

The wide surface on which the combustion happens guarantees• low combustion temperature• reduced turbulencewith the following advantages:

greater transmitted energy in comparison to a traditional burner with the same flame temperature

absolute working safety due to the absence of turbulences

limited production of pollutants for the complete oxidation of the molecules of methane • excellent combustion efficiency: maximum

CO2 = 9,1% • attainment of the condensation regime already with

return temperatures of (54°C) • optimization of the efficiency thanks to the low

smoke temperature and “air excess” • low NOX emissions: 82,14 mg/kWh (weighted value

according to EN 297 A3).

Hydrodynamics The heat exchange with the system is guaranteed by specific return collectors (one for high and one for low temperature) to exploit at the most the efficiency of the heat exchanger.

Large diameter flanges (M/Rat/Rbt: DN 125) assure the maximum circulation with low pressure losses.

The water, through the forced circulation, winds completely the stainless steel tube bundle of the boiler and, once heated, is pushed in the flow pipe.

Power and flexibility Unical supplies the best possible motor and the most effective and flexible way to control it, in function of the heating system that needs to be managed. In this case it is possible to exploit both, the suitability of the burner modulation and the boiler condensation for the maximum energetic saving !

HSCP: Heating System Control Panel is the new control system. It is made to be the clear, simple and flexible dialogue window with the boiler, in order to notice and to automatically connect among them, via eBUS, more devices in different points of the heating system.

This, unlike the connections pin to pin, allows the simple expansion of the system through the connection of special multifunction cards SHC (Slavic Heating Controller) for the management of the passive loads and / or further active energetic resources; in this way it is possible to exploit several functions. Thanks to the SHCs it is possible to use, and then to buy, only the optional necessary cards and to set the functions through the variation of a simple dedicated parameter.

Every SHC checks up to 3 heating circuits, has 3 entries for NTC temperature sensors and 2 entries for PT1000 probes for solar circuits. It is possible to connect up to n°4 cards SHC and therefore to manage up to 12 heating circuits.

A low tension feeder is available in case of mounting in the boiler house panel board.

The card BCM (Burner Cascade Manager) elaborates the data related to the measured flow temperature and the temperature calculated by the system; then if a modulating pump is connected, will have: • Increase of the pump flow rate if the Delta T increases

too much • Reduction of the pump flow rate if the Delta reduces

too much.
