This map has been produced by the City of Austin Planningand Development Review Department for the sole purposeof facilitating neighborhood planning. The land use inventory is maintained in a geographicinformation system (GIS) that electronically stores parcelboundaries and land use information. The inventory is asnapshot of how land was being used at a particular point intime. The City uses appraisal information, aerial photos, anddevelopment records to update the inventory about every twoyears. The information is vital to a variety of plannings efforts,especially the comprehensive planning process. It is used in avariety of modelling software to predict impacts of future landuse decisions. Note: Undeveloped land may include land usedfor agricultural purposes, and some undeveloped land mayhave become developed after this map was compiled. Also,not all undeveloped land is suitable for development to dueenvironmental and other constraints.
