The Gallo-Roman Museum of Lyon is a museum on the Gallo-Roman civilisa-tion in Lyon (Roman Lugdunum ), previously located in the heart of the Roman city and now sited near the city's Roman theatre on the Fourvière hill, half-buried into the hillside on the edge of the archaeological siteThe new building was designed by Bernard Zehrfuss and opened in 1975Internally, it is formed of a concrete spiral ramp descending and branching out into the display rooms. It is managed and operated by the Rhone department jointly with the archaeological museum of Saint-Romain-en-Gal .[0:11:25] saraypa: As a way of preventing the risk of receiving an unfavour-able decision from the local authorities, the architects designed a house that could not be rejected on the grounds that it impinged on the land-scape. Their solution lay in building downwards and thus reinforce the relationship with the surroundings. It was a idea that recalls old traditional building methods in Northern Scandinavia where the wide walls were built of overlapping layers of soil and turf, a technique that bound the soil to the roots, worked as a thermal insulation and completed the camouflage with the land.

Deca architecture is considered as the pioneers in the designing of under-ground homes. These homes are the result of creative thinking, which blends both the aspects of function and fashion in to it. These are the most suited house designs for the peaceful area of Cycladic Islands situated in Greece. Only the top storey is visible as the lower level is created under the ground. This natural design features entertaining area in the outdoor which is really spacious and is divided from the interior area with the help of sliding doors. These sliding doors are made of glass and this enables the clear view and felicitates the saving of energy.

The land on Druidston cliff overlooking St Bride’s Bay, which the Labour MP Bob Marshall-Andrews and his wife Gill owned, was only one hundred and fifty metres from the sea. This spectacular site was situated in one of the most beautiful National Parks in England and Wales, dating back to 1949. The Park covers almost 300 km of coastline characterized by great diversity of high cliffs and long, open beaches, protected bays, marshes and dunes. The park boasts a coastal footpath that allows the visitors to cross it com-pletely while observing several protected offshore islands. Among them one can see Skomer, Skokholm, Ramsey, Grasholm and Caldey, all interna-tionally known for their seabird and seal populations. Mr and Mrs Marshall-Andrews had bought the land many years ago. An old army barrack stood on it, which had been used as a shelter in the past but the couple had used it to spend their vacations with their two children. As the barrack was deteriorating, the couple decided to approach Jan Kaplicky and Amanda Levete, the founding architects of Future Systems, for their new holiday house.
