Impervious Ground• We have estimated 2/3 acres of land that is
covered by the shopping center.• Trees are planted in beds.
Average height of Trees• Distance from you to tree: 540cm• Eye level-175.26cm• Top of tree-55 degrees• Height of triangle-975 cm• Add height level: 975+175.26= 1,150.26 cm
Height of a Tree- 1,150.26 cm
Percentage of Parking Lot
•The percentage of the parking lot is covered in 90% of cars.
Water Flow
•All the water in the front and back parking lot flows into the sewage drains that are in the parking lot.
View
•The area is not aesthetically pleasing to me because the mall is old and it doesn’t have much of a good view.
Problems• Most of the respondents were concerned about
the noise pollution, accidents, and traffic because these things just bring in police and more security.
• I noticed that some of the problems were heavy pollution from the exhausts of cars and noise pollution from the same cars.
Solutions
•These problems can be solved by having a policy of no loud music and putting a limit of cars in the parking lot.
Stores
•Small shopping centers are better than the large ones because, they have the things most people want. Ex. Footaction, Footlocker, etc.
Conclusion• In conclusion, South DeKalb Mall is an old but
unique shopping center. All the trees that are in the parking lot are slightly new, but the trees outside the parking lot are historically old.
