Thousand eight hundred and twenty seven between James Brown of the county of
Madison and state of Tennessee of the one part and William H. Coleman of the county
of _________ and State of Kentucky of the other part. Witnesseth that the said James
Brown for and in consideration of the sum of nine hundred and sixty dollars and ___
cents to him in hand paid by the said William H. Coleman the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged hath given granted bargained sold aligned conveyed and confirmed that
the said William H. Coleman his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of
land situated lying and being in the county of Hardeman and state of Tennessee 10th
district in range 4 and section two and bounded as follows to wit.
Beginning at the post oak the North East corner of a 640 acre tract granted to William
Bradshaw by grant No. 1801 thence West two hundred and forty poles with the line of
said tract to a post oak the North West corner of said tract thence South with the West
boundary of the said two hundred thirteen and three tenths poles to a stake Williams
corner thence East two hundred and forty poles with Williams line to his corner on the
East boundary line of said original 640 acre tract thence North with the said two
hundred thirteen and 3/10 poles to the beginning contained three hundred and twenty
acres the northern half of said 640 acres to William Bradshaw to have and to hold the
aforesaid land, with all and singular the rights profits emoluments hereditaments and
appurtenances of in and to the same belonging and in any wise appertaining to the only
proper use and behoof of him the said William H. Coleman his heirs and assigns
forever. And the said James Brown for his heirs executors and administrators doth
covenant and agree with the said William H. Coleman his heirs and assigns that the
before recited land and bargained premises he will warrant and forever defend against
the right title interest or claim of all and every person or persons whatever in witness
whereof the said James Brown hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal this day
and date above written signed sealed in and delivered in presence of
