How to Tell If there is a Substitute When a teacher is absent, a substitute is not able to connect with the remote learners. Therefore all staff who need a substitute have been asked to post a message and directions for the students for that day. If there is a substitute teacher, students should find an announcement in their posts in that specific class/team they are on in the teams app. It should look something like this example supplied by Mrs. Johnson - notice this is under POSTS.

of your iPads. Next, select "DISPLAY & BRIGHTNESS". The appearance that should be checked here is LIGHT. If yours is on DARK, you need to change it now. We are experiencing many problems with student iPads on DARK mode, so it is an expectation that your iPads stay on LIGHT mode. Please be aware that if your son/daughter does his/her work on DARK mode - they will not be able to send it to the teacher to view - therefore the work done will be lost. Students should be coming to school on the days are assigned - yellow-group 1 or purple-group 2 If your child is a fully remote learner and missing class due to illness, we still need you to call the attendance office. 339-1407 is the correct number for the AttendanceOffice When at home for fully remote learning or hybrid remote learning, students will not be invited to SAS. This is their time to have study hall at home and do work. They do not need to report to SAS for attendance. Teachers are inviting students to classes, but we did find a glitch in TEAMS which randomly blocks the invite. We are working on fixing this issue. If your child is unable to click on an invite to a class, please call 339-1436, and we will notify the teacher to resend that invite. We apologize for this issue and hope to have it settled shortly. It is important to review the process if your son/daughter should get sick in school and demonstrateoneof theCOVID-19symptoms.Tobemorespecific, ifyourchildhasa temperature of 100 degreesor aboveOR demonstrates fever, chills, shortnessof breath, sore throat, lossof taste/smell, headache, cough, nasal congestion, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, muscle or bodyaches. Another helpful set of steps: Connecting with East Irondequoit's Schools While Learning From Home 1. Connecttotheinternetormobilehotspot. 2. On the first login screen put in username First initial, last name, graduation year. (ex: jsmith25)

Password for elementary and GRADE 6 their school prefix followed by their student id number. (ex: ig999999 or de999999). For grade 6 students the school prefix is the school they attended LAST YEAR. If you don't know your child's student ID, please call the school. Password for secondary is unique to each student. If your grade 7-12 student does not know their password please call the middle or high school and ask to be transferred to the Student Helpdesk.

3. Open Microsoft Teams and put in [email protected] (ex: [email protected]) and same password as above. 4Open your Teamscalendar (toolbar on left hand side)and click"join"on the first class for the day. 5. Teachers will be able to help you from there!

8th Grade Washington Trip Canceled Wethought it best, beforewebegin toschedulefundraisers, to announcethat weare in fact canceling the 8th grade trip to Washington. We do not have confidence that a trip like this will be safe for our students, aswecannot currentlypredict the impactCOVID-19mayhaveonourcommunity over the next year.Weknow this isdisappointing, but promise to plan a fun end of the year trip for the class whenourcircumstanceswith thishealthcrisis improve.Thankyou foryour understanding.
