The Man of Steel’s newspaper adventures ran

for more than twenty-five years, from 1939 until

1966. These strips have been among the rarest of

all Superman collectibles,

Now, in a partnership between The Library of

American Comics and DC Comics, these long-lost

treasures are being comprehensively collected and

preserved for future generations.

This volume of the SupermanGolden Age

daily newspaper strips presents the complete

comics from February 1942 to October 1944,

at the height of the Second World War. Featured

is the first appearance of the mischievous Mr.

Mxyztplk, the menace of The Monocle, the

nefarious Noname, Miss Dreamface, “King”

Jimmy Olsen, and the kidnapping of Santa Claus!

IN THIS VOLUME:More than 800 daily strips are collected for the first

time since their original appearance in newspapers more

than seventy years ago! The stories were written by Jerry

Siegel and Whitney Ellsworth, and drawn by Joe Shuster,

Wayne Boring, and others.

These tales from Earth-N (for Newspapers) are edited

and designed by Dean Mullaney, with an introduction by

John Wells, and special cover drawings by Pete Poplaski.

Cleveland youngsters, Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel.

Their defender of the oppressed became an enduring

smash sensation in comics, radio, animation, television,

and motion pictures. He remains the little guy's White

Knight, battling terrestrial and extra-terrestrial menaces

while standing for Truth, Justice, and the American Way.
