• Do not pull the mains cable to disconnectthe appliance. Always pull the mainsplug.

• This appliance complies with the E.E.C.Directives.

• Only for UK and Ireland. The appliancehas a 13 amp mains plug. If it isnecessary to change the fuse in themains plug, use fuse: 13 amp ASTA (BS1362).

Water connection• Do not cause damage to the water

hoses.• Before connection to new pipes, pipes

not used for a long time, where repairwork has been carried out or newdevices fitted (water meters, etc.), let thewater flow until it is clean and clear.

• Ensure that there are no visible waterleaks during and after the first use of theappliance.

• The water inlet hose has a safety valveand a sheath with an inner mains cable.

• If the water inlet hose is damaged,immediately close the water tap anddisconnect the mains plug from the mainssocket. Contact the Authorised ServiceCentre to replace the water inlet hose.

Use• Do not sit or stand on the open door.• Dishwasher detergents are dangerous.

Settings

Programme selection mode and usermodeWhen the appliance is in programmeselection mode it is possible to set aprogramme and to enter the user mode.In user mode, the following settings canbe changed:• The activation or the deactivation of the

acoustic signal for end of programme.

These settings will be saved until youchange them again.

How to set the programme selection modeThe appliance is in programme selectionmode when all the programme indicatorsare on.When you activate the appliance, usually itis in programme selection mode. However,

Acoustic signalsThe acoustic signals operate when theappliance has a malfunction and it is notpossible to deactivate them.There is also an acoustic signal thatoperates when the programme iscompleted. By default, this acoustic signal ison, but it is possible to deactivate it.

How to deactivate the acoustic signal forthe end of programmeThe appliance must be in programmeselection mode.

1. To enter the setting mode, press andhold the programme button until theindicator starts to flash.• The end indicator indicates the

current setting: End indicator on =Acoustic signal on.

2. Press the programme button to changethe setting.• End indicator off = Acoustic signal

off.3. Press the on/off button confirm the

setting.

Before first use

1. Fill the rinse aid dispenser.2. Open the water tap.3. Start a program to remove any

When you use multi-tablets, that containrinse aid is not necessary to fill the rinse aiddispenser.• Set the rinse aid dispenser to the lowest

position.

What to do if you want to stop using multi-tabletsBefore you start to use detergent and rinseaid separately do the following procedure.1. Make sure that the rinse aid container is

full.2. Start the shortest programme with a

rinsing phase. Do not add detergentand do not load the baskets.

3. When the programme is completed,adjust the released quantity of rinse aid.

Setting and starting a programme

Starting a programme1. Keep the appliance door ajar.2. Press the on/off button to activate the

appliance. Make sure that theappliance is in programme selectionmode.

3. Press the programme button repeatedlyuntil the indicator of the programme youwant to select comes on.

4. Close the appliance door to start theprogramme.

Opening the door while the applianceoperatesIf you open the door while a programme isrunning, the appliance stops. When youclose the door, the appliance continues fromthe point of interruption.

Cancelling the programmePress and hold the programme button untilthe appliance is in programme selectionmode.Make sure that there is detergent in thedetergent dispenser before you start a newprogramme.

End of the programmeWhen the programme is completed theindicator is on.1. Press the on/off button to deactivate the

appliance.2. Close the water tap.

If you do not deactivate theappliance within 5 minutes allindicators goes off. This helps todecrease energy consumption.

For the better drying results keepthe appliance door ajar for someminutes before you remove thedishes. Let the dishes cool downbefore you remove them form theappliance. Hot dishes are easilydamaged.

Hints and tips

GeneralThe following hints will ensure optimalcleaning and drying results in daily use andalso help to protect the environment.• Remove larger residues of food from the

dishes into the waste bin.• Do not pre-rinse dishes by hand. When

needed, use the prewash programme (ifavailable) or select a programme with aprewash phase.

• Always use the whole space of thebaskets.

• When loading the appliance, make surethat the dishes can be completelyreached and washed by the waterreleased from the spray arm nozzles.Make sure that items do not touch orcover each other.

• You can use dishwasher detergent andrinse aid separately or you can use themulti-tablets. Follow the instructionswritten on the packaging.

• Select the programme according to thetype of load and degree of soil. With theECO programme you have the mostefficient use of water and energyconsumption for crockery and cutlerywith normal soil.

Using rinse aid and detergent• Only use rinse aid and detergent for

dishwasher. Other products can causedamage to the appliance.

• The rinse aid helps, during the lastrinsing phase, to dry the dishes withoutstreaks and stains.

• If you use multi-tablets you can select theMultitab option (if available). This optionimproves the cleaning and drying resultswith the use of multi-tablets.

• Detergent tablets do not fully dissolvewith short programmes. To preventdetergent residues on the tableware, we

recommend that you use the tablets withlong programmes.

• Do not use more than the correctquantity of detergent. Refer to theinstructions on the detergent packaging.

Loading the baskets

Refer to the supplied leaflet withexamples of the load of thebaskets.

• Only use the appliance to wash itemsthat are dishwasher-safe.

• Do not put in the appliance items madeof wood, horn, aluminium, pewter andcopper.

• Do not put in the appliance items thatcan absorb water (sponges, householdcloths).

• Remove remaining food from the items.• Soak items with remaining burned food

in water.• Put hollow items (cups, glasses and pans)

with the opening down.• Make sure that cutlery and dishes do not

bond together. Mix spoons with othercutlery.

• Make sure that glasses do not touchother glasses.

• Put small items in the cutlery basket.• Put light items in the upper basket. Make

sure that the items do not move.• Make sure that the spray arm can move

freely before you start a programme.

Before starting a programmeMake sure that:• The filters are clean and correctly

installed.• The spray arms are not clogged.• There is dishwasher rinse aid (unless you

use multi- tablets).• The position of the items in the baskets is

correct.

Unloading the baskets1. Let the tableware cool down before you

remove it from the appliance. Hot itemscan be easily damaged.

2. First remove items from the lowerbasket, then from the upper basket.

At the end of the programmewater can still remain on thesides and on the door of theappliance.

Care and cleaning

Warning! Before maintenance,deactivate the appliance anddisconnect the mains plug fromthe main socket.

Dirty filters and clogged sprayarms decrease the washingresults. Make a check regularlyand, if necessary, clean them.

Internal cleaning• Carefully clean the appliance, including

the rubber gasket of the door, with a softmoist cloth.

• If you regularly use short durationprogrammes, these can leave deposits ofgrease and limescale inside theappliance. To prevent this, werecommend to run long durationprogrammes at least 2 times per month.

Troubleshooting

If the appliance does not start or it stopsduring operation, before you contact anAuthorised Service Centre, check if you cansolve the problem by yourself with the helpof the information in the table.
