How did her career begin? • Gaga started to play the piano when she was just 4. By the time she was 14 she

was performing at “open mic” events, she also took part in high school plays and productions. Despite this she said that she never felt like she fitted in at high school and often felt like a “freak”.

• Gaga finished high school and decided to apply for Collaborative Arts Project 21 (CAP21), this was a musical theatre training academy in New York, the project took place at a school called Tisch School of the Arts. Although Gaga got in she didn’t feel it was for her and by 19 she dropped out and decided to focus on her music career.

• Her father unhappy with her decision agreed to pay her rent for a year on the condition that she would re-enrole at Tisch School of the Arts if unsucseesful.

• She began a band called SGBand, this was a fair success and they managed to get regular gigs in New York. However they split up a couple of years later, Gaga worked on her solo career and was in 2006 noticed by Rob Fusari.

• Her depute album was released in 2008

Who creates her outfits and tour concepts?

• Her famous meat dress was created by Franc Fernandez and styled by Nicola Formichetti. It was named fashion statement of the year 2010, although it didn’t impress everyone it caused controversy between many animal rights groups. However the point isn't that everyone loves it its that it gets talked about and it did.

• The Haus of Gaga is responsible for form most of Gagas out fits and her props on stage. Their most notable creations are the Disco stick and the womb mobile that she arrived to the 53rd grammy awards in.

• Also she has some fans that will simply donate money.• Lady gaga also has her own brands which her fans can buy, for example she has

had her own, very successful, perfume named “fame” after one of her albums.• And of course a lot of her funding comes from profit from shows and tours. This

means people involved can be payed she can make a lot of money herself and some money can go towards the next our or show.

Gaga’s fans• A huge part of Gaga’s fan base is part of the LGBT community. Her main goal is to

make people that feel like they don’t fit in, feel like they do fit in. This is because when she was younger she felt like she didn’t fit in and doesn’t want anyone else to feel like that.

• Her fans often turn up to her tours or shows dressed very extravagantly, in the same kind of style that they anticipate she might be dressed. This shows that she has a massive and loyal fan base.

• Her fans are often interested in art and fashion, this is because these are the things they can express themselves through and expressing themselves is their main ethos.

Gaga’s views • Lady Gaga’s parents are roman catholic and raised her as one, however she didn’t

follow suit and decided to become a selfist (this means she believes that ones self is their own god). Following selfism seem to fit very well into Gaga’s general views that everybody is equal and that you should love your self .

“It’s more self-worship, I think, not of me. I’m teaching people to worship themselves”• In terms of politics Gaga is very liberal and doesn’t seem to have and particular

preference.• Gaga came out to speak about the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy on gay military

personal. Although it was not seem this had any immediate impact the policy was later removed.
