September Sunday Sermon Series The Bible Challenge
We invite you, your family and friends to Bethany’s new series “The
Bible Challenge.” The challenge is to “get caught” reading the New
Testament this fall. Whether you are a brand new Christian or a
seasoned veteran “The Bible Challenge” has something just for you.
Make sure you stop in to Bethany or catch us online connect2bethany.org as we
kick off this message series Sunday, September 13th.
During this series students will have two opportunities to stand for Christ on their
school campus. ‘See You At the Pole’ on
Wednesday, September 23rd (see youth
page for more info). And ‘Bring Your Bible
to School Day’ on Thursday, October 8th
(bringyourbible.org). Adults will also be
encouraged to stand for Christ by looking
for opportunities to share The Word,
handing out New Testaments.
Fall Kick-Off for YOUTH & TEENS September 9th @7pm

The goal is to build relationships, learn new things, and to walk with Christ. Together
as we accomplish these goals we are building future leaders and families that love and
live for Christ..

Souled Out Kicks Off September 9th @7pm
There is no other place that JR HI and SR HI students should be every
Wednesday night over this coming school year because that’s when Souled Out is
happening! Each week is another opportunity to build relationships with others
and with the God who not only made us, but loves us so much! It is a place for
friends to come and explore what life can be like when we live it the way our
Creator has told us. Souled Out can have some crazy games, food, and a time
where we put the real pieces of our lives together; the things we wonder about,
struggle with or need to learn bringing them before the God who is writing our
story each and every day. We’ll finish up the night with some fun in the gym.
Don’t miss a single week!
See You At The Pole 2015 Wednesday, September 23rd @7am
This annual event is on Wednesday, September 23, at 7am at your
school’s flagpole. All around the globe, in every time zone, students will be
gathering at their flagpoles, praying for their school, friends, families,
churches and communities. See You At The Pole is a day committed to
global unity in Christ and prayer for your generation. Make a commitment
to go before God with other believers at your school and ask that He do
something that He’s never done before. SYATP could be the beginning of
God doing something great on your campus this year. syatp.com
Souled Out Online If you are looking for information about Souled Out and the events that
we are doing, you’ve got two great sources: Facebook and the church’s website. While there may be several down
sides to Facebook, one of the good things about it is that it allows us to quickly get detailed information out to
everyone about upcoming events. That same information will always be placed on our church website as well for
those of you who do not have Facebook accounts. The Facebook address is facebook.com/SouledOutBBC and the
website address is connect2bethany.org/#/connectbethany/teens.

SPOTLIGHT ON MISSIONS
The goals of Bethany’s Missions Committee...to equip and enable members and friends of Bethany to be
personally involved in obeying the Great Commission...to provide a support system for our missions
families who are following the Lord in reaching out into the world.
Missionary of the week September 2015
Sept 6 - Phil & Julie Parshall have spent many years
ministering in both Bangladesh and in the Philippines. Pray for
good health, wisdom, and for Julie’s outreach as she is teaching
English to Muslim women. They have been mentoring a new couple
headed for Bangladesh, and they minister in various ways in Sebring,
Florida.
Sept 13 - John & Anna Kay Haskell have been a part of Bethany’s missionary family for
more than 45 years. They plan to retire this year to South Carolina from ministering in the
Netherlands. They will need housing, a vehicle, U.S. driver’s licenses, medical insurance,
etc. Pray for them as they make the transition to retirement.
Sept 20 - Dr. Sharon Samson: This is a time of transition for Sharon as International Bible
Lessons changes to a different focus, and as she moves to a retirement community.
Please pray for Sharon’s health and for ministry opportunities in the future.
Sept 27 - Joshua Javery is working at a church in Poland. This church
has run out of space and is looking for a larger place to meet. Joshua has been in
Poland for almost four years and will soon begin his home assignment. Lately he
has been experiencing technical difficulty with his computer. Pray that these
problems can be resolved.

EVENTS
Becoming a Member New Member Class begins
Membership does matter. Jesus lived and
died for the church (Eph. 5:25). As a believer in
Christ, you are a member of the spiritual
church. In Christ, you are called to become a
part of His body as a member of a local
church. If you are a Christian and you are not
a member of a church, then we encourage
you to connect with a church as soon as
possible. Don’t take this lightly. Your
membership with a church is beneficial and
necessary (1 Cor. 12:4–31).
For those interested in membership or
who would like to know more about it, this
course is a 4 week class. Please place a note
in the offering or call the church office.
