InstallationOnceyouhavedownloadedtheBedSoftsoftwareontoyourcomputer,opentheprogrammeandselectGastroCHART™fromthelefthandsideofthescreen,undertheBedfont®Storeheading.OnceGastroCHART™hasbeendownloaded,thesoftwaretabwillmoveintothecentreofthescreen,asshownbelow.

Add/editpatientsThisfunctionallowsyoutomanagethepatientsusedwithinthesoftware.Fromhereyoucanaddnewpatientsandeditordeleteexistingpatients.
Addnewpatient
Toaddanewpatientclickthe buttonnextto“patientdetails”,thensimplycompletetheforminthelowerhalfofthescreen.Youmustcompleteatleastonenamefield(surnameorfirstname)andspecifyeitheranaddressoracontactnumber.Thedateofbirthfieldmustalsobebeforetoday,allotherfieldsareoptional.
Edit/deletepatient
Tofindapatienttoedityoucanusethefilterboxesatthetopofthescreen.Thesefilterboxesare
identifiedbythetext“contains”,( ).Clickingthegreyfilterbuttonattheendoftheboxwillbringupalistofpotentialfilters,totypeinasearchterm,clickthefilterbox.Toeditapatientclickontheappropriaterowinthelistandthelowersectionwillupdatetodisplaythepatient'sdetails,ifalreadyeditingapatientyouwillbepromptedtosavethecurrentrecord.Make

SynchroniseGastrolyzer®deviceThisfunctionallowsyoutosynchronisepatientswithaGastro+™orGastroCH4ECK®device.Youcanadd/removepatientsfromthedeviceandsynchronisereadingswiththedevice.OnceaGastro+™orGastroCH4ECK®isconnected,thesoftwarewillrecognisethedeviceandgiveyoutheoptiontosync;
itisdisplayedbytwodirectionalclockwisearrows .
TheGastro+™andtheGastroCH₄ECK®Gastrolyzer®monitorscanbesynchronisedwiththesoftware,aswellas,synchronisepatientdatawiththedevice.Whenadeviceisconnectedthesoftwarewilldisplaythenameofthedeviceinthetoprightofthewindow.
Whenthescreenopens,theboxatthebottomshowsallthepatients/resultsontheconnecteddevice.Foreachpatient,youcanselecttodownloadthetestresultsandeithersavethemasanewtestorattachthemtotheendofanexistingtest.Alternativelyyoucanleavetheresultsonthedeviceordiscardthem.Finally,foreachpatientyoucanselectwhetherornottoleavethemonthedevice.
PatientdetailsThepatientprofilesontheleftofthescreencontainallpreviousdataincludingtestresultsofthatgivenpatient.Whenapatientisselectedfromthelistonthelefthandsideofthescreen,therighthandsideofthescreenwillshowstwosections.
Theuppersectionhasaseriesofthreetabsthatbecomepopulatedwithdataoncethepatienthassometestdataassociatedwithit:
• Thefirsttabshowsthereadingsfromthelatesttestsperformedbythepatient.Theseresultscanbeviewedbyselectingthe‘previoustests’tabatthebottomwherethepatientdataisshown
• ThesecondtabshowsthePPMvaluesplottedonagraphagainstthethresholdvaluefromtheprotocol
• Thethirdtaballowsanewtesttobestarted.
Thelowersectiondisplaysanotherthreetabsforselection:
• Thefirsttabshowsasummaryofthepatient’sdetails• Thesecondtabshowsprescriptionsgiven,notes,anysymptomsseenbeforethetestand
medicationsuggestedforthepatient• Thethirdtabdisplaysanyprevioustestsforselection.

BreathtesttoolThebreathtestingfunctioncanbeusedforsingleormultiplepatientswithboththeGastro+™andtheGastroCH₄ECK®Gastrolyzer®.
Startsingletest
Beforestartingasingletest,selecttheappropriatepatientfromthelist.Youcanfilterthelistusingthecriteriafieldsabovethelist;enteranyapplicablesearchcriteriaandthelistwillbeupdatedautomatically.Torunatest,firstselectadevice,thentheprotocolfromthepulldownlist.Enteradosagegiven,athresholdvalueandspecifythedateandtimeofthefirstreading.Ifyouplanonrunningthetestinrealtime,makesurethe‘usetimer’boxisticked.
Click tobegin.Ifthetimerisused,youwillseeacountdowntotakethenextreading.Continuetakingreadingswhenprompteduntilyoufinishthetest.Attheendofthetestyoucanenteraninterpretation.

Startmultipletests
Torunamulti-patienttest,firstmakesurenopatientsareselected(anyselectioncanbeclearedby
clickingthe symbolabovethepatientdetails).The buttonwillbecomeavailable.Clickingonthelistofpatientswilladdthemtothemulti-testlist;thereisnolimittohowmanypatientscanbeselected.Next,selectadevicefromthepulldownlistandthedevicebeingused.Youcanthenenterthedosagegiven,athresholdvalueandspecifythedateandtimeofthefirstreading.Click'starttest'tobegin,youwillseeacountdowntotakethenexttest.Continueaddingpatientsandtakereadingsforeachwhenprompteduntilyoufinisheachtest.Attheendofeachtestyoucanenteraninterpretation.

ProtocolbuilderThisfunctionallowsyoutocreateyourownprotocolsforusewithinthesoftware.To
add/edit/deleteaprotocolgototheGastroCHART™settingsbyclicking andselectthe‘protocols’tabalongthetopofthebox.

Addnewprotocol
Toaddanewprotocol,completethename,substanceandthresholdboxes,followedbythetimepointsatwhichreadingsaretobetaken.Whenyouhavefinished,selecttheearliestendpointforthetestandclick'save'tostoretheprotocol.
Editprotocol
Toeditanexistingprotocol,clickontheappropriaterowinthelistandmodifythevaluesabove.Click'save'tokeepthechanges.
Deleteprotocol
Todeleteanexistingprotocol,clickontheappropriaterowinthelistandclickonthe'delete'button.Aconfirmationmessagewillpopupandifconfirmedtheprofilewillbedeleted.
PrintresultsTofindapatienttoprintresultsyoucanusethefilterboxesatthetop.EnterapatientID,orpartofasurnameandthelistwillupdateautomatically.ToproduceaPDFreportofreadingsforthispatient,youcanclickthe‘printresults’button.Youwillbeabletoselectthedifferentcriteriashownontheprintout.

Generatingareport
Togenerateareport,startbyclickingthe button.Nextselectthepatient’snameorprotocolthatyouwishtoanalyse,andthenselectthefieldsthatshouldbeincluded.Thepatientcanbefilteredbyname,sexandpostcode.Theprotocolscanalsobefilteredbyapositiveresultanddateranges.

Exportingareport
Youhavethreemethodstoexportthedata:Excel,CSVandPDF.AfterexportingtoExcelorCSV,youwillbepromptedtoprovideafilenametosaveyourdata.IfexportingtoPDFthedocumentwillbedisplayedandtheoptiontoprintorsavewillbecomeavailable.
