"Festuki" is an even shorter variant of "fiestuki" or "fiestuqi" - Spanish youth-slang for "fiesta" or partying. This short film based on still photography takes its inspiration from Chris Marker's 1962 classic "La Jeteé". The off-screen narration is the driving element behind the on-screen imagery as the eerie piano music in the background holds the two in a delicate emotional balance.

Rafa, Lucas y Jorge son amigos, íntimos e inseparables desde la infancia, y pasan un fin de semana en el campo. Después de una noche de fiesta y borrachera deciden sacar unos galgos de paseo por el bosque. Luego, en un descuido de Jorge, los terminan perdiendo. Sin darle demasiada importancia, y tirados en el suelo, nada parece ir mejor entre ellos. Hay risas, distensión, relajación hasta que Lucas y Rafa se dan cuenta de que Jorge ha desaparecido.

Rafa, Lucas and Jorge, intimate and inseparable friends since childhood, spend a weekend in the country. After a night of partying and boozing they decide to take some greyhounds out for a walk in the woods. Then, due to Jorge’s carelessness, they end up losing them. Without placing too much importance on this, lying down on the ground, they seem to be getting on just fine. There is laughter, an easy mood, relaxation, until Lucas and Rafa realize that Jorge has vanished.

(Français) Rafa, Lucas et Jorge, des amis d'enfance intimes et inséparables, passent un week-end à la campagne. Après une nuit de fête et d'ivresse, ils décident d'aller promener des lévriers en forêt. A cause d'une négligence de Jorge, ils finissent par les perdre. Ils n'y accordent guère d'importance et, affalés par terre, tout semble aller au mieux pour eux. Ils rient, sont détendus et relax, jusqu'au moment où Lucas et Rafa se rendent compte que Jorge a disparu.

Carlos es un escritor joven que está decidido a descubrir qué ha ocurrido con su mentor, Ángel Millán, quien ahora está en boca de todos por su última y polémica trilogía. Al hacerle una visita, descubre que en su casa habita un personaje siniestro y extraño.

Carlos is a brilliant young writer who has just obtained a successful international acclaim for his latest work. During a casual conversation, he remembers his mentor and soon realizes that not everyone has such a positive view of Angel Millan who, after a creative silence of several years, is on everybody's lips thanks to his new and controversial trilogy. Determined to prove that Millan is still the man he knew, Carlos come to visit him, but now a sinister and strange man is living in Millan's house.

Este documental está basado en la experiencia personal de un periodista que, tras haber viajado a Haití en el año 2004, decide borrar ese país de su memoria a causa de la horrible violencia presenciada. Sin embargo, siete años después de su primera y fatal incursión, y pese a haberse jurado no volver jamás, regresa a Haití. La situación que vive el país es trágica tras el terremoto de 2010. Pero el temblor, que había derribado muchas cosas, puede que hubiera ayudado a levantar otras.

This documentary is based on a journalist’s personal experience who, after travelling to Haiti in 2004, decides to erase this country from his memory after having witnessed terrible violence. However seven years after this first and terrible foray, and despite having vowed never to return, he goes back to Haiti. The position that the country is in after the 2010 earthquake is tragic. But the quake, which had destroyed many things, may have helped in raising many others.

Durante la Guerra Civil española se produjeron innumerables gestos de solidaridad entre personas que luchaban en bandos opuestos. Este documental relata algunas de esas historias hasta hoy desconocidas y protagonizadas por ciudadanos anónimos que no dudaron en ayudar a sus vecinos, ocultándoles proporcionándoles comida, intercediendo por ellos o ayudándoles a saltar fronteras sin importar su militancia. Historias como la del hombre que salvó al abuelo del expresidente Aznar o la aventura del abuelo de Javier Cercas, que protagonizó una historia similar a la del libro “Soldados de Salamina”, totalmente desconocida para el autor, su nieto.

During the Spanish Civil War there were countless acts of solidarity between people who fought on opposite sides. This documentary tells some of those stories that never came to light starring unknown and anonymous citizens who were eager to help their neighbours, concealing and providing food, interceding for them or helping them to jump borders regardless of what side they were on. Stories such as the one about the man who saved the grandfather of former President Aznar or the adventure of the grandfather of Javier Cercas, who starred in a story similar to thta in his book "Soldiers of Salamis" but was totally unknown to the author, his grandson.

Un hombre exhausto camina por el desierto. El sol parece derretir la imagen. El hombre apenas puede caminar, agotado, hambriento y sediento. Derrotado cae al suelo. Entre el calor y el sol de justicia en el horizonte, a lo lejos, distingue un hotel.

An exhausted man walks through the desert. The sun seems to melt the image. The man can barely walk, exhausted, hungry and thirsty. Defeated, he dropps down. Between the heat and blazing sun on the horizon in the distance, he catch a glimpse of an hotel. His hope is renewed and in a last effort he goes near the entrance. At the reception the man comes near the reception desk. There is anybody. He rings the bell for help, the bell falls. It's paper.

(Français) Un homme épuisé marche dans le désert. Le soleil semble faire fondre l'image. L'homme peut à peine marcher, il est épuisé, affamé et assoiffé. Abattu, il tombe sur le sol. Entre la chaleur et le soleil de plomb, au loin à l'horizon, il distingue un hôtel. Ses espoirs se réveillent et dans un dernier effort, il titube vers l'entrée. À la réception de l'hôtel, l'homme s'approche du comptoir. Il n'y a personne. Il sonne la cloche pour demander de l'aide mais elle tombe par terre. Elle est en papier. L'homme est complètement surpris et commence à regarder autour de lui, tout est comme un décor, fait de carton et de faux. Des trompes-l'oeil font que les perspectives s'allongent, que le mobilier soit en carton et que tout soit irréel. La principale question est plus logique que jamais. Où se trouve-t-il ?

After saying goodbye to his lover, Ane, Borja receives a parcel from the postman, from that person for whom he always opens the door without thinking twice. "Leonardo Da Vinci. La mirada del Genio" es una producción del Ranchito para la exposición "Da Vinci. El Genio". La muestra, celebrada entre diciembre de 2011 y mayo de 2012 en el Centro de Exposiciones Arte Canal de Madrid contó con más de 270.000 visitantes, en un recorrido por la vida y la producción del artista italiano, a través de tres perspectivas: un Leonardo más íntimo, la pintura de sus discípulos italianos y españoles, y las máquinas que ideó.

Leonardo Da Vinci, the movie. El Ranchito's production The Genius Look for the exhibition Da Vinci. The exhibition that took place at the Madrid Centro de Exposiciones Arte Canal between December 2011 and May 2012 attracted more than 270,000 people. The visitors were lead through life and production of the Italian artist under three points of view: Leonardo’s more intimate side, the work of his Italian and Spanish disciples, and his machine inventions.

Whale Watch Tarifa has been dedicated for the last 15 years to protecting and watching whales and dolphins in the Straits of Gibraltar. This short film allows the spectator to get closer to these wonderful, yet unknown, animals, with the help of Lourdes Isasa, president of Whale Watch Tarifa.

“Es muy simple: aquí Arriba usted recuerda que Abajo ha olvidado. Y allá Abajo, usted olvida que aquí Arriba ha recordado”. Libi2, un alma humana en tránsito entre una vida y otra, intenta comprender, intenta retener para luego recordar, pero sabe que, una vez más, esto será imposible. La aventura de una vida planificada al milímetro por ella misma, está por comenzar. En un lugar remoto, quizá un desierto, una entrevista de control se está llevando a cabo. El objetivo es comprobar que todo está yendo según lo previsto. Pero Libi2 no acepta del todo su condición, su frío y burocrático interlocutor quizá sea más vulnerable de lo que parece. Al entrevistador se le vuelan sus papeles y Libi2 sonríe, enfrentándose una vez más a la verdad de siempre: las coordenadas exactas del azar.

“It is very simple: Up Here you remember that Down There you forgot. And Down There, you forget that Up Here you remembered.” Libi2, a human soul in transit between one life and another, tries to understand, tries to keep hold of something in order to remember later, but she knows that, once again, this will be impossible. The adventure of a life she has planned to the utmost detail is about to begin. In a remote place, maybe a desert, a control interview is taking place. The objective is to ascertain that everything is going according to plan. But Libi2 does not completely accept her condition; her cold and bureaucratic interviewer might be more vulnerable than we expect. The interviewer’s papers suddenly fly off and Libi2 smiles, facing, once again, the same truth: the exactness of the coordinates of chance.

Crazy about football is a documentary that tells the most important journey in the lives of the members of the Andalusian 7 football team: to play the European Championship in Italy. Pero para su marido, la ausencia de lavadora implicará una ausencia aún mayor: Luisa ya no está en casa cumpliendo con su condición de ama de casa y esposa sumisa.

Luisa's washing machine has stopped working. After the initial misfortune this will represent, it will actually become her perfect alibi to slip away from her slow daily routine.
