Just minutes away from local amenities

La Cachette is located just a few minutes’ drive from the bustling little town of Ernee, where you will find large supermarkets as well as smaller shops, banks, restaurants and takeaways. The town’s market is held every Tuesday.

Just three miles to the north is the village of St-Denis-de-Gastines, with boulangeries, a bar and a pharmacy. The village is also the site of a major annual music festival which attracts thousands of visitors each summer.

Just half an hour’s drive away are the larger towns of Laval and Fougeres, which boasts the largest medieval fortress in Europe.

The cottage is two hours from the ferry terminal at Caen; an hour and 40 minutes from St Malo port and the airport at Dinard; or an hour’s drive from Rennes airport.

The area has attractions to suit every age

You’ll never be short of things to do during your stay at La Cachette.

The cottage is perfectly situated to explore the many attractions on offer in Normandy, Brittany and the Pays de la Loire.

A short drive away is the superb medieval fortress at Fougeres, the largest of its kind in Europe. A little further south is the quaint town of Vitre, with its half-timbered buildings and castle.

Just five minutes in the car will take you to a huge sculpture garden in Ernee dedicated to internationally renowned artist Louis Derbré.

For racing enthusiasts, the world famous Le Mans racetrack is just over an hour away while Ernee itself will host one of the world’s top motocross events in 2015.

For families, there are numerous attractions to suit every age. The coast and Mont St Michel is only an hour away to the north, while for those willing to travel further afield it’s worth a trip to Nantes to take a ride on its 12-metre high mechancical elephant and see Les Machines de l’île.
