Intergenerational Concert at the Imperial
The residents were fortunate to take part in a
wonderful activity sponsored by the Imperial
Theatre last month - “The Memories Series!”
KWCC and other homes from the area were in-
vited to take part in the special concert series
which involves a partnership with the local high
schools. Seniors and students were paired up
together for an evening of feasting and fun.
Friendships were made and memories won’t fade as both residents and
their new friends enjoyed a most exciting performance by Bill McGuigan, a
Buddy Holly impersonator. It was so uplifting to see everyone, young and
old embracing early Rock and Roll music, feet were
tapping, hands were clapping and lots of smiles
everywhere.
Thanks goes out to the Imperial Theatre for making
such wonderful connections within our community
possible!!!

Diamond Ladies
Recently, at the “For the Love of Chocolate” fundraising event, our very own Lisa Guidry won
the very beautiful chocolate diamond bracelet worth $5,700! Willing to share her prize
with some of the glamorous ladies at our home, she has invited them to wear it for a day.
Lucky recipients this month were Meredith Lyon, Opal Fitzherbert and Mabel Crease. The
ladies were very honored and excited to be trusted with wearing something so expensive
and beautiful for the entire day! Thank you Lisa for so generously sharing your gift with
the ladies of KWCC! Below Mabel & Opal are showing off the bracelet while some of
the residents are sampling the chocolate goodies.

International Women's Day March 8, 2015 MAKE IT HAPPEN All around the world, International Women's Day represents an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women while calling for greater equality. Make It Happen is the 2015 theme for our internationalwomensday.com global hub, encouraging effective action for advancing and recognizing women.
Each year International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8. The first International Women's Day was held in 1911. Thousands of events occur to mark the economic, political and social achievements of women. Organizations, governments, charities, educational institutions, women's groups, corporations and the media celebrate the day.
Various organizations identify their own International Women's Day theme, specific to their local context and interests. Many charities, NGOs and Governments also adopt a relevant theme or campaign to mark the day. For example, organizations like the UN, Oxfam, Women for Women, Care International, Plan, World Association of Girl Guides & Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and more - run exciting and powerful campaigns that raise awareness and encourage donations for good causes.
Let’s celebrate all of the women in our homes – residents, staff, and volunteers *********************************************************************
General Store
We are in the baby stages of installing a general store
here in the home! We need your help!
What would you like to see in the store? Chips, candy,
pop, Kleenex and small gifts were suggestions, what
else should we have?
If anyone has any ideas for fundraising, please talk to Carol. We are all
very excited to get this addition to our home up and running!
