floods issues in agriculture.

The Globally Important Agricultural HeritageSystems (GIAHS) programme was started bythe Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)in 2002 for spreading public awareness and

to safeguard world agricultural heritage sites.

The objective is to support the internationalcommunity to put forward food production

practices that make skilful use of natural resourceand protect soil health and biodiversity.
