Missions

Towards becoming a center for pharmacy education and research based on Islamic principles and to enhance international collaboration and recognition towards achieving comprehensive excellence.

1.  To provide quality pharmacy education with sufficient scope of knowledge and application.

2.  To provide fundamental and specialised knowledge and practice in pharmacy.

3.  To equip students with required skills and a broad base exposure to pharmacy practice, ethics, and humanities.

4.  To prepare students to serve the current and emerging needs of the society and to enhance collaboration nationally and internationally

•  The Kulliyyah of Pharmacy was established in 2002, with a vision of restoring the dynamic and progressive role of the muslim ummah in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.

•  Our Bachelor in Pharmacy (Honours) programme is accredited by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA), Ministry of Education Malaysia and Pharmacy Board Malaysia, Ministry of Health and it is carefully designed to meet the vision and mission of the university to be in line with the National Education Philosophy.

•  The graduates will have opportunities to work in public and private practices within hospitals and community settings, in the pharmaceutical industry and government sector, research and academia.

•  We have a total of about 40 Academics Staff, 50 administrative staff to take care of about 120 students enrolled each year.

Curriculum Structures

The core courses are compulsory for all students in the Pharmacy Program. Students are required to register and pass all of these courses.

Students who fail in any of these courses have to repeat the course. A total of 135 credit hours must be registered by the end of study period for

Career ProspectROLES IN HEALTH OF THE COMMUNITY

 

Graduates shall pursue their dream career in the field of

pharmaceutical sciences such as in the hospitals, clinics,

community pharmacies (either to venture their own business or

to be an employee), research and development and others.

The role of pharmacists in the community is important in giving

advice, counseling, patient education on the consumption of

drugs, and help in addressing the issue of misuse of drugs.

Pharmaceutical IndustryOn industrialization, the government has agreed with the proposal by the

Malaysian Industry Group for High Technology (‘MIGHT’) in identifying

the pharmaceutical industry as one of the technology based industry,

which the nation must venture into in order to achieve its target of

becoming an industrialized country.

 

Based on the above factors it is imperative that the nation needs to

increase the number of pharmacists in the country in order to offer more

efficient pharmaceutical services both in the public and private sectors

of Malaysia and the Muslim countries.

 

This project involves the establishment of a small scale pharmaceutical

plant in the Kulliyyah that will be engaged in both teaching and

manufacturing of some generic drugs.

From Students’ Discipline Rules 2004 (Amendment 2006):

“Any student who is inappropriately attired will be barred altogether from entering all academic building and administration building and shall be guilty of disciplinary Offence”

Compound offence under this rule a sum not exceeding RM50.00
