This August I spent 10 days in Northern British Columbia hunting Stone Sheep with Golden Bear Outfitting’s Greg and Blake Williams. It was the most physically, mentally and technically challenging hunt I have been on in 35 years. We crossed glaciers and crevasses in crampons and climbed the steepest, most technical rock ridges I have ever navigated. Inhospitable country for sure, and the perfect setting to challenge body, mind and will. Truly a hunt I will never forget.

Nuyarn®

KUIU’s quest for the finest ingredients led us to Nuyarn from The Merino Wool Company in New Zealand, where they take their wool remarkably seriously. Nuyarn is not a new fabric, it’s a new way of making fabric. Traditional ring spun yarn twists the life out of yarn, Nuyarn doesn’t.

Classic yarns twist fibers together for strength, which leaves ends poking out. Nuyarn takes the twist out, and instead lays fibers along the same orientation as the rest of the yarn, so fabrics feel less prickly and more comfortable yet become stronger. Nuyarn lower-density fabrics let lighter-weight garments outperform heavier traditional ring spun garments.

KUIU has introduced the first complete line of gloves totally effective in all hunting conditions and temperatures. Fully Adjustable Suspension

KUIU redesigned the suspension in its ULTRA and ICON Pro packs utilizing a patented T-Lock track system that securely holds the shoulder straps to the frame and allows for easy adjustment and customizable comfort. The sleek design and new hip belt move the frame and pack closer to your back, offering excellent support for carrying demanding loads.
