KUIU added unconventional field-testing to laboratory analysis of its carbon fiber pack frame. In activities that include driving over it with a pick-up truck, loading it with 150 lbs. of gym weights and throwing a loaded pack off a cliff, the carbon fiber frame proved its strength.

Fully Adjustable Suspension

KUIU redesigned the suspension in its ULTRA and ICON Pro packs utilizing a patented T-Lock track system that securely holds the shoulder straps to the frame and allows for easy adjustment and customizable comfort. The sleek design and new hip belt move the frame and pack closer to your back, offering excellent support for carrying demanding loads.

Quixdown®. Waterproof Warmth Down has the highest warmth-to-weight ratio of any insulation material. The only draw back is that once wet, down stops being effective and takes very long to dry. Not anymore. Through nanotechnology, Toray Industries has created a water repellent finish for down feathers that makes each down cluster essentially waterproof. Quixdown® stays dry to keep you warmer with less weight and bulk.

Positively WaterproofIn a real-world technology test, two jars were filled with equal amounts of water and thoroughly shaken to expose the down to water. Regular down became saturated and lost its loft.

Quixdown repelled the water and kept its loft.
