1. ACTIVITIES REFLECTING THE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE
INSTITUTION:
Activities undertaken in the academic year 2006-07 to achieve aims and objectives of
the institution.
a. Major objective of the year 2006-07 was to provide modern instruments and
excellent laboratory facilities to students and teachers. For this College
purchased many sophisticated instruments. Computer and Internet facility was
provided to all departments. Students were given free access to this facility.
b. To promote research ( a new dimension) at College level
i. All departments are allotted sufficient funds to procure new
equipments. Separate space and infrastructure is allotted to research
laboratories of different departments. New equipments are purchased
by Physics, Electronics, Zoology, Botany, Microbiology,
Biotechnology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Computer Science,
Commerce and English department.
ii. Number of minor and major research projects of UGC and BCUD
(Pune University) are under taken.
iii. M.Phil. Program of Yashwantrao Maharashtra Open Univrsity
(YCMOU) is going on in 8 departments.
iv. To promote research number of students and teachers promoted to
participate in state/national/international level seminars and
conferences. Total 40 teachers are involved in research and 50
research students are working for Ph.D.
c. University of Pune has conducted a program called “Research Festival
AVISHKAR”. Under this, a research project competition was conducted at
three levels UG, PG and Research level. A district level project competition
was held in college and our college projects were selected for University level
competition.
d. CPE Committee of UGC New Delhi comprising Dr. R.R. Sharma Ex. Vice
Chancellor, Jammu University, Dr. Sachdeo Pradip, Kurukshetra University
and Committee secretary , Dr. Nilophar Kazmi, Assistant Director, UGC
Western region, visited the College
e. Placement Cell of College has arranged number of Campus recruitment
programmes of different companies like Satyam, Wipro, Accenture, TMI
First, Torna Pharma, Glaxo, Etc. A total of 400 students were placed in
various organizations.

f. Personality and Soft skill development programmes are regularly arranged.
University of Pune has initiated a new dimension to it by arranging soft skill
programmes of University in all Colleges. This program is continuously
going on in the College. Different students are given training by experts in
different batches.
g. Career counseling and academic counseling are the activities of the Career
and Academic Counseling Cell of the College. Students are given guidelines
through this cell through out the year.
h. Microbiology department, Environmental Science and Chemistry dept
organized blood donation camps. NSS students and Health club also conducts
different medical camps.
i. Inculcating values in students:
Information to Right, Noted Social Worker Hon. Mr. Anna Hazare visited
college and delivered lecture based on value education to UG and PG
students
j. Vaibhav Puranik, First prize in National level elocution competition “MVP
karandak”
k. American road show was arranged in the College. Delegates from USA and
students and teachers of the College exchanged cultural and academic
activities. Mrs. Elizabeth Coffman, American Consulate and other five
members visited the College. Dr. Narendra Jadhav, Vice Chancellor of
University of Pune was also present on this occasion. Parent management
felicitated the delegates
l. On the occasion of Marathi Language Day Noted Marathi Writer Shri.
Manohar Shahane expressed his thoughts with the students and teachers of the
College.
m. Hindi day celebration 14th
Sept. District level elocution competition.
n. Geography Day celebrated. Thermal Power Model (Eklahare, Nashik) was
developed by geography students and it was shown to students and teachers of
the College. Saplings were distributed to teachers for growing at their home.
o. National seminar on “English for Practical Purposes” organized on 19-20th
Dec. 2006. Dr. Krishnaswamy and Mrs. Krishnaswamy interacted with the
delegates.
p. Inauguration of M.Phil Programme of YCMOU University at the hands of
Vice Chancellor Mr. Rajan Velukar

q. Delegates from Taipai University, Taiwan visited College and signed
Memorandom of Understanding (MOU) for teacher student exchange
programme.
r. KTHM College is one of the operating agency of national ambient air quality
monitoring committee of CPCB. Under this project assessment of ambient air
quality is monitored throughout India.
s. MPSC/SET/NET/CSIR coaching was arranged for students.
t. National level seminars/conferences, refresher courses in different subjects
and number of workshops were arranged for teachers and students to foster
global competence.
u. 19 research projects of UGC , BCUD,CSIR an DST are ongoing and 14 are
completed.
v. Laboratory renovation of nine departments under CPE grant is done.

3. INNOVATIONS IN CURRICULAR DESIGN AND TRANSACTION:
The College does not have the leverage to design and bring innovations in curricular
design as the curriculum is designed at University Level. However the
implementation or transaction of syllabus is done effectively by adopting various
innovative methods in different departments of the College.

STUDENT FEEDBACK
Student assessment of teachers is introduced for all courses run by the College.
Comprehensive questionnaire designed by IQAC is used for evaluation of
teachers on five point scale-Excellent, Very Good, Good, Average, and Below
Average. Unbiased feedback collected on 15 different aspects related subject
knowledge, commitment, involvement and others.
Respective departments‟ conducts the procedure of collecting feedbacks and
analyzed facts are discussed in the meetings of department and if necessary
communicated to respective teachers and principal. Necessary measures are taken
to improve or rectify the lacunae.

31. ACTIVITES AND SUPPORT FROM THE PARENT TEAHCER
ASSOCIATION:
Parent teacher meets are arranged at the department level. Many departments call
parents as and when necessary for giving details of their ward. Suggestions
given by parents are used for improving the daily working procedure of the
College.
32. HEALTH SERVICES:
College Health Centre works for providing basic first aid in case of accidents or
mishaps. It conducts regular checkup of students. Different health camps are also
arranged.
The college has a no-smoking policy and for that smoking is strictly banned on
the campus. The college canteens too do not allow smoking.
College health center is equipped with Patient examining table and necessary
first aid.
Qualified Doctor works as a visiting medical officer. This medical officer is
deputed by the Principal of medical College of parent institution.
Various medical check-up camps are organized by the health center every year.
A medical check-up of first year students is carried out every year.
Complete medical check-up of faculty and staff members with age more than 40
years is conducted.
Ambulance Facilities of Medical College of Parent management are availed by
the College.

Opening of Science association took place on 14th Dec. 2006 at the hands of Prof.
Deshpal Varma, Ohio State University, USA. Mr. Sanmitra Das, Chief Editor,
Daily “Deshdoot” presided the session. Dr Varma delivered a talk on “ Molecular
Genetics” and “Molecular Biology”. He has alos guided students and teachers of
the College on different opportunities of education in USA
Akhsay Study Abroad a trust in Nashik arranged lecture “Educational
opportunities in foreign countries”, He gave detailed guidance on different
scholarships, different educational programmes and institutes. Around 600
students participated in this activity
41.c Commerce Association and Planning Forum
This forum is established for achieving all round development of students and
competency of students in this globalization era. Opening lecture was given by
Vice Chancellor Mr. Pandit Palande, YCMOU, Nashik. He discussed the
importance of “Dedication and Hard work” with the participants.

Elocution and Debate cell is functional for improving language
proficiency, personality development and promotion of inherent talent of

Students participated in various state, district and national level

Arranged National level debate and elocution competition on 14th and
15th Feb 2007. Total 101 teams from all over maharashtra and other states
participated in the competition. The first prize of Rs. 21,000 wa s won by
our student Mr. Vaibhav Puranik, TYBSc Arts.

41. f Student Welfare Organization
University of Pune has given a new dimension to Student Welfare Organization
from this year. Under this organization different activities are arranged. Prof.
Sanjay Savale is nominated as student welfare organization officer (SWO Officer)
for this College by University of Pune.
For the academic year 2006-07 advisory committee of 7 members was formulated
. First meeting of advisory committee was conducted on 1st of August 2006.
Action plan and execution policy was chalked out in the meeting. It was decided
to conduct following activities through out the year under the banner of this
organization.

98400=00 was utilized for this)

Celebrated Ahilyabai Holkar Punyatithi. On this occasion Essay
