LEVEL 3 I am working at Level 3 because I can
recognise the ways sounds have been combined
sing in tune with expression

identify how music reflects different intentions
perform with an awareness of how different parts fit together
improvise melodic and rhythmic phrases in a group performance

describe and compare different pieces using musical vocabulary

LEVEL 5 I am working at Level 5 because I can identify how music reflects time, place and culture
perform music from memory and from notation and can improvise melodic and rhythmic material make different contributions to my group (e.g. leading others, taking solos) compose music for different occasions, exploring and using appropriate musical devices evaluate how venue, occasion and purpose affect the way music is created, performed and heard refine and improve my work
