Inspired by nature, organic in form and environmen-tally friendly... KREOD pavilion combines three 20 m2 capsules in a variety of spatial configurations. The hex-agonal structure is based on a simple recurrent joint connection detail. Its three pods can be combined in a variety of configu-rations or installed as free-standing forms.

The structural design aims to show a sustain-able and forward thinking building method in the digital age, challenging the new way of thinking, designing, engineering, fabricating and installing. The design will have the prac-tical considerations for transportation, store, dis-assembly and reassembly i.e. stackable components, modularity.

KREOD also could be utilized as a media center, popup bar, marketing and event space during and beyond the London Olympic Games 2012. KREOD will be sold as an indoor/outdoor feature i.e office meeting pod, garden feature, bike shed. It will be a very sustainable way to extend the life of the pavilion beyond the exhibition.

Constructed of Kebony, that offers an alternative to tropical hard-wood and toxic-treated wood that is sustainable, environmentally-friendly, non-toxic, easily-maintained, resistant to decay and aes-thetic. It’s impressive durability and long lifespan in harsh climates makes Kebony suitable for a variety of purposes including roofing, decking, windows, furniture and flooring. A patented process called Kebonization, makes the wood harder, more durable and resistant to weather and wear, by using a non-toxic liquid derived from agri-cultural bio waste.
