Difficulties No Cultural Proximity The reason why Korean cultural wave does not

create waves in India may be explained in light of no cultural proximity between two countries. Theoretically, media productions from culturally affiliated countries have greater reception than those from the culturally distanced countries. Cultural proximity is a characteristic that is predominately reflected in "nationally or locally produced material that is closer to and more reinforcing of traditional identities, based in regional, ethnic, dialect/language, religious, and other elements" (Straubhaar, 1991).
