Kogod’s Full-time MBA program is designed for students to complete the core curriculum in the first two semesters, and maximize the time to pursue meaningful, portfolio-building projects, extracurricular clubs, and internships. During the first year of the program, students attend classes and workshops three mornings and one afternoon per week. The summer is left open for internships, international travel, or additional coursework opportunities.

The third and fourth semesters of the program are dedicated to elective courses. Students may pursue a specialized consulting focus developed with leading consulting firms, both federal and commercial, to prepare them for consultancies in areas such as strategy, IT, human capital, and finance.

Students may choose electives with an emphasis in accounting, entrepreneurship, finance, international business, sustainability management, marketing, real estate, or finance. They may also opt for elective courses on leadership, teams, presentation and motiva-tional skills, or consider the diverse elective offerings from American University’s other schools and colleges.
