Kodaikanal Lake also famous as Kodai Lake is one of the most popular kodaikanal tourist places located in Kodaikanal city Dindigul District in Tamilnadu, South India.

It is a star shaped manmade lake developed in 1863 by the Collector of Madurai (Sir Vere Hendry Levinge).

He constructed the lake & filled the lake with fish. He bought the first boat & later he created a boat club.

In 1910 a new boat house was created & opened for the travellers as picnic spot. Currently the Kodai Lake is categorized as the most popular sightseeing in kodaikanal by the travellers.
