Get your hula skirts ready for a LUAU!
Hello Cowlishaw Families! What a wonderful year we have had! All 3 classroom parties have been held and were so much fun! Art Awareness is under way, as well as, the Six Flags and Ozzie Reading program. Our Open House was well attended and the Book Fair was a huge success! Thank you to all who attended. We saw a lot of families at the Cultural Fair and had wonderful demonstrations from our families. Another opportunity to bring the family out is our upcoming Spring Dance on April 5th. Watch for details to follow. Look for our Spring fundraiser to come around mid-March and how it coordinates with Earth Day.
We are in the process of putting together our boards and committees for the 2012-2013 school year! Wow! If you would like to be a part of or know more about available positions please contact either one of us. There are so many wonderful opportunities - at home and at school - where you can show your support and we can't do it without YOU!As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.Usha Iyengar and Jackie [email protected]@att.net

FRIDAYS ARE
SCHOOL SPIRIT DAYS!!!
Please have your children show their School Spirit by wearing their
Cowlishaw Apparel or our school colors BLUE and GREEN every Friday!
The PTA organizes Staff Apprecia,on Week to thank and to celebrate the dedica5on and commitment of our teachers and staff. They are an integral part of the Cowlishaw community and we want to show them our gra5tude by organizing a few events during the week. During the week of May 7th – May 11th the following programs have been planned for them: the students will give the teachers something special throughout the week (TBA), a “coffee break” with coffee and goodies, and a breakfast and raffle.
For the raffle, we would like to have as many giJs as possible for the staff so we are asking for an op5onal dona5on of $5 to purchase gi< cards and/or donated gi< cards. If you would like to par, cipate in the dona,on please send cash or check (made payable to JeaneGe Fitzgerald) no later than May 4th. Please put the dona,on in an envelope marked “Teacher Apprecia,on/J Fitzgerald” and send it to the office. Please note that giJ cards will be raffled off and will not go to specific teachers.
Should you have any ques5ons, please call (630) 961-‐1746 or email me at [email protected]
Thanks,JeaneZe Fitzgerald
Ozzie Reading Program:Home Run logs are due Wednesday, February 22nd! Once the logs are received by your teacher, you will receive an order form for Cougars tickets in Backpack mail. Ticket orders are due back to school no later than Friday, March 16th. Any questions, please contact Carol Borowski (630/637-0431) or [email protected].

The Box Tops/Labels Contest is done and the big winner of the pajama day is Mrs. Swi)'s 4th grade classroom with 999 box tops/labels! Congratula?ons! You should all be proud of yourselves though because as a whole we collected over 10,000 box tops and labels!! Nice work!! That will go toward our playground equipment (labels) and our PTA programming (Box Tops).
Please con5nue to send in your box tops and labels. We will s5ll be collec5ng them year-‐round. We won't do another contest this school year so be mindful of saving them up for a contest, because, unfortunately, they do have an expira5on date on them. Another note is to be sure to collect the box top "official coupon" or "bonus box tops" for it to count and for the labels, we need the UPC barcode part of the label (not just the "labels for educa5on" logo).
Thank you for your support and making the contest a huge success!! For any ques5ons or comments about Box Tops/labels, please contact Katy Loo at [email protected]. Thank you.
