September is back to school month and here at Pyro City Maine we have the fireworks to celebrate those fall sports. Winslow Area Community Events Sept 8th -11th - 43rd Annual Interna-tional Seaplane Fly-In - Greenville- The International Seaplane Fly-In As-sociation is a non-profit organization whose main focus is to provide avia-tion education to participants and spectators alike. The event draws in thousands of participants and specta-tors to "Downtown" Greenville. Sept 23rd - 25th - Common Ground Fair- Unity- If you've been to the Fair, you know-if you haven't been anyone who has will tell you - it's an event like no other, that brings so many people from so many walks of life to-gether to enjoy rural and agricultural living in Maine. Over 60,00 people annually visit this 3 day event.

Edgecomb Area Community Events Sept. 2nd-11th - Boothbay Harbor Fest. A 10 day festival featuring crea-tive events that celebrate our local tra-dition. Music geeks, foodies, artsy folks, fashionistas, athletes... Sept. 16th - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bath/Brunswick is holding its an-nual The Big Swing Charity Golf Tour-nament @ at the Brunswick Golf Club 9am-2pm 165 River Road, Brunswick. Teams of four will enjoy 18 holes of golf with cart, contests, lunch, awards, and prizes. A $150.00 donation (per golfer) or $500.00 per foursome (team) will provide a day filled with fun. Sept. 30th - Lighthouse Cruise; Leg-ends, Lore, Haunts. Explore the leg-ends and lore of Midcoast Maine’s lighthouses, including a shore land-ing at historic Burnt Island Light, built in 1821. Be aware of your surroundings. That is a simple

five word sentence. Simple but very powerful, it

means so much in regards to fireworks safety. Let's break it down; look

around shooting area are there dry leaves, grass, clippings that would

be fuel for a fire? Look up, do you see any tree branches that could in-

terfere with your aerial repeater. Where is your audience, are the young

ones under parent supervision. (For that matter is drunk uncle Mickey

being supervised? Remember last year?) Scope out the situation be-

fore, during, and after your show. Be safe to have fun.
