ANSI 107-2010 High-Visibility Apparel Standard

ANSI Z107-2010 specifies the amount of background material and the amount of retroreflective striping which mustbe present to qualify as a Class 1, 2 or 3 garment. By knowing some facts regarding the ANSI standard, you canbetter choose the best type of reflective clothing for

your business.

Class 1 Garments• Used where there is ample

separation of workers from vehicletraffic and where the workscene is not complex

• Used where trafficspeeds do notexceed 25 mph

Class 2 Garments• Used where work

activities take place incloser proximityto traffic and

where these activities may divert worker attentionfrom approaching traffic• Used where traffic speeds exceed 25 mph

Class 3 Garments• Used by workers who are exposed to higher

Know the Basicsof Traffic Cones• The minimum height of cones used city on
