Volunteer of the Month
We have 2 co-op students at Kennebec Manor who have been working with us since September and will be with us until January. Both are named “Dallas” which is quite unusual, since one is male and the other female. Both these young
people are very eager to help and are appreciated by the residents and staff.
Dallas Lewis, shown here with our nurse manager, Gillian Miller, came to us from Harbour View High. She lives at
home with her parents and has a part-time job at Walmart.
Dallas plans to take the PSW course when she graduates
this June and then later, the LPN course.
Dallas, God bless your future endeavours!
Dallas Douglas, shown here with Phyllis, came to us from St. Malachy’s High. He is a grade 12 student and is trying to
decide what his future plans are.
He lives at home with his parents and younger brother,
Dakota.
Dallas, we wish you all the best and God bless you for
bringing joy to our residents!

Over the Top
We all feel a little out of sorts when we are having a ‘bad hair day’. At Ken-nebec Manor - Paula Boudreau - works in our Hair Salon. Paula goes above and beyond to ensure our residents have their esthetics needs met.
Paula began her journey at Kennebec 9 years ago.
She is wonderful, caring, patient and offers an individual outlook to each and EVERY resident. There are so many wonderful looking hair do’s. Not only
that but they are all different to suit each resident in an individual way. Normally what you see is the same hair cut with rollers. We are all so proud to say that her attention to detail while giving care to residents
does not just stop at the hair, but their total beauty appearance, like removing facial hair, etc.
Even the male residents get cuts and shaved to suit their needs.
Paula never seems hurried and knows the desires of the residents and of how to improve their looks, just as
they would have expected in their younger years.
If you look good, you feel good! Thank you Paula for going over the top for our residents!!

Bulk Buying Program
The Foundation is very excited to inform our staff that we will now have a bulk buying program from one of our food suppliers –
Sysco. Here is an update on how it will work:
1. Place your order at Reception. Simply check off the item
and quantity.
2. Pay for your purchase at time of order.
3. Orders will be placed twice a month – approximately the
15th and end of month for those items that are paid for.
4. Items will be delivered to Kennebec Manor and you will be responsible for picking up from the Nutrition Staff within a
day or so of delivery due to freezer space.
5. If quantities are too large, perhaps consider sharing with a
friend or co-worker.

MOMENTS OF JOY
We are now 23 months into our campaign Moments of Joy and I am very excited
to report that we have received a total of over $405,619 in pledges and donations. These came from staff, volunteers, resident’s families, Board of
Directors, our suppliers and the community.
Our Chair and Cabinet are actively working on our behalf in asking their

appreciated as we have received some significant contributions to our Campaign.
Our community is very generous!
