At KLEEMANN we welcome you to a new friendly futuristic age. It is the age of design-ing lifts beyond the prescribed limits, for peo-ple who live the feelings and feel the life.

The lift is a unique space in a building. It moves. Therefore it is very different from any other interior space. Based on the lift nature, function and construction materials, the time spent in a lift is probably the most complex experience for anyone in a building.

Our aim at KLEEMANN is to create new, unique sensations for the lift passenger. We try to meet every passenger need and aesthetic demands, irrespectively of building style.

In an effort to maximize passenger satisfac-tion, we present “KLEEMANN Design”, which marks the beginning of the cooperation between KLEEMANN and the world famous designer Mr. Andreas Zapatinas.

“KLEEMANN Design” is something more than a selection of lift cabins, doors, buttons and operating panels. ”KLEEMANN Design” is a fresh proposition to move. ”KLEEMANN Design” is a new proposition to live. Com-posed of three styles, futuristic, modern and classic, “KLEEMANN Design” transforms the lift space into a unique experience for today’s user.

The choice in lifts is yours.

Your first choice in lifts is KLEEMANN.

The Blue Line Concept A constitutional element of “KLEEMANN Design” is the “Blue Line Concept”. Blue is the color of tranquility and communication. Line means simplicity and is the easiest way to consolidate two points. The “Blue Line Concept” is the starting point of “KLEEMANN Design” philosophy. The “Blue Line Concept” forms the union between you and the calmness and safety of your ride. It welcomes you in peace and it moves you, moving all your senses at the same time. KLEEMANN together with Andreas Zapatinas, design the complete product, taking into account the whole series of interactions with the user. We present you unique recommendations of cabins and doors, accompanied by a complete range of materials that gives you the possibility to create your own personal design; your own personal “KLEEMANN Design”!

Approaching the lift from the outside you will notice our commitment to quality. The Blue line will guide you, the attractive design of the doors will welcome you and up close you can touch and feel everything. When you enter, you can live in full, the unique space we created in the lift cabin.

This is the “Blue Line Concept”; KLEEMANN’s identity line for the new world.

Solutions for improving the accessibility of existing lifts to people with limited mobility

With respect to the special needs of people with limited mobility, KLEEMANN proposes a series of solutions that aim at improving quality of life and transportation in buildings with old lifts.

The solutions proposed are fully compliant with the CEN / TS 81-82:2008 European Standard, whichrecognizes 4 features that need to be examined in all old lifts to ensure their smooth, and above all, safe use by everyone, regardless of mobility problems. These 4 features are the following:

• Liftentrances–doors• Cabin–dimensionsandequipment• Operating panels in the cabin andon each landing, and• Quality of motion and stoppingprecision of the cabin.

You can download the informationdocument available in electronic format from the KLEEMANN website, www.kleemannlifts.com

The company’s privately owned testing tower is at the final stages of its construction. Over 4 million Euro have been invested in this 55-metre tower, which is expected to be completed by early 2010.

KLEEMANN completes its successful family of products bearing the MaisonLift name with MaisonLift Basic, the smartest lift solution based on European Directives 98/37/EC and 2006/42/EC on Machinery. MaisonLift Basic is an ideal product for transport and improvement of accessibility for people with limited mobility in an easy, fast and economical manner, even in buildings with no provisions for the installation of a lift (available with a metal or aluminium shaft). The basic advantages of MaisonLift Basic include very quick installation, requiring no pre-existing infrastructurewithin thebuilding, as well as excellent quality and safety. However, MaisonLift Basic stands out because it offers the possibility of automatic operation, exactly like a lift. MaisonLift Basic has been issued with an ECType-ExaminationCertificate.

This is a traction lift with a small cabin used for the transport of small, light loads (clothes, food, documents, etc). It is intended for commercial or domestic use (hotels, hospitals, restaurants, catering facilities, offices, banks, maisonettes, etc.). Designed and certified according to the EN 81.3 EuropeanStandard, thedumbwaitercanbecombined with a metal shaft frame, so that it may be installed at premises where there is no available shaft. Its noiseless operation and adaptability to the colour scheme, morphology of the surrounding area and aesthetic preferences of the client make the KLEEMANN Dumbwaiter a valuable “associate” in the vertical transport of light products and objects.

SteelShaftSolutionsareintendedforbuildingswithout a shaft, thus allowing the installation of any KLEEMANN lift with a freight capacity of up to 5 tonnes. Each shaft structure is studied by KLEEMANN expert engineers, who provide options from a wide range of construction materials so as to achieve a highly aesthetic result, and all necessary construction choices

to meet any need for internal or external installation at the building site. The structure is delivered in just 8 weeks (including pre-assembly) and it is accompanied by a full manual and installation plan, ensuring the guarantee and quality of KLEEMANN.

These are lifts that have been designed and constructed with regard to additional security measures, so as to be protected from potential vandalismrisks.Theneedforvandal-proofliftsarises when lifts are installed in buildings used by the general public, such as hospitals, railway or subway stations, stadiums, shopping malls, state schools, underground passages, airports, etc., where, due to the nature of the building, there is the risk of certain people intentionally damaging equipment. In recognition of this need and following instructions by the European Commission, the

EuropeanCommitteeforStandardisation(CEN)issuedtheEN81-71Standard,whichreferstospecifications for vandal-proof lifts.Accordingto this Standard, lifts are distinguished into3 categories, depending on the risk of being subjected to vandalism, as follows:

Category 0: Any regular lift designed to meet the basic requirements of EN 81-1 or EN81-2Standardsistoprovideabasicdegreeofprotection against “rough” use and it is known as a “category 0 lift”.

Category 1: This category includes lifts designed tomeettherequirementsofEN81-1orEN81-2and fulfilling supplementary requirements, in order to protect the lift installation from moderate acts of vandalism.

Category 2: This category includes lifts designed tomeettherequirementsofEN81-1orEN81-2and fulfilling supplementary requirements in order to protect the lift installation from severe acts of vandalism.

The designer/constructor of the building is responsible for categorising lifts. The classification of the lifts to be installed according to the 3 categories of the EN 81-71 Standardtakes into consideration various parameters,

such as the type of users or the importance the lift will have for services within the building. Moreover, studies have shown that acts of vandalism are directly related to the degree of surveillance users are under, a fact which, for example, makes lifts with a glass shaft and cabin safer.

The ΕΝ 81-71 Standard sets additionalrequirements for category 1 and 2 lifts in regard tovariousliftsub-systems,suchastheshaft,engine-room, doors, operating panels andcabin. These requirements concern additional mechanical endurance of parts exposed to and accessible by users, as well as safeguarding the non-accessibility of certain parts of theinstallation, such as the shaft and engine room, tonon-authorisedindividuals.

KLEEMANN Vandal-proof Lift

The KLEEMANN Vandal-proof Lift hasbeen specially designed and equipped with additional safety measures so as to be protected against the risk of malicious vandalism and heavy use. It is designed for buildings with increased traffic of the general public or buildings that can be accessed by people who could cause damages, such as stadiums, hospitals, train or subway stations and, in general, places where the public gathers. TheKLEEMANNvandal-proof lift isfullyharmonisedwiththeEN81-71EuropeanStandard issued in 2005 in order to setcommonspecificationsinEuropeforvandal-proof lifts.
