Educational programs of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service are open to all people without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information or veteran status. The Texas A&M University System, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the County Commissioners Courts of Texas Cooperating
CONGRATULATIONS to all exhibitors who
participated in the Houston Livestock Show, RGVLS
and Star of Texas Show with your lambs, goats,
steers, chickens and pigs! Way to represent Kleberg-
Kenedy County 4-H!
Volunteers are the heart of our organization in
providing quality educational programs. 4-H
volunteers evoke energy and power on a daily basis
as they lead by example—not only encouraging the
people they help, but motivating others to serve as
well. Our volunteers work with youth directly and
indirectly in support of their 4-H projects (food,
clothing, photography, leadership, community
service, livestock, etc.). This special group of
individuals give their time, talent, and resources to
the 4-H program.
April 6-12, 2014 is National Volunteer Week.
Members are asked to thank their club
manager/project leader for all they do.
Sincerely,
Niki Kaiser, CEA 4-H & YD

Spring 2014
Tractor Supply Company
Paper Clover Campaign
Spring Paper Clover is back at TSC!
This year’s paper clover campaign is scheduled for April 23rd– May 4th.
I would like to see EVERY club pick a shift/shifts to work the table at Tractor Supply. I have a calendar started, so call
or email Janis ([email protected]) ASAP to select a date! This campaign has been a great fundraiser for 4-
H, with 60% of the proceeds staying here to support our local 4-H program. The TSC manager, Tammy, is excited to
have us come to the store to promote the clubs and support our organization in any way.
Some things to remember while selling paper clovers…
Have Fun! Greet customers and tell them exactly how they are supporting us. Wear your favorite 4-H shirt!
Check-in with a TSC employee and ask for the money box upon arrival and return at the end of your shift. Please
do not let the kids use, sit or climb on store merchandise. We expect 4-H’ers to be on their best behavior.
A table will be set up with a 4-H display by the door. Only 4-5 people should be in this area. Other 4-H members
can be outside with posters or 4-H promotional materials to encourage customers to visit our booth and purchase
Clovers. All 4-H clubs working must have adults present with kids inside and outside of the store.
4-H Clubs are encouraged to set up bake sales, sell popcorn, set up a lemonade stand, set up a display of 4-H
project opportunities, etc. to attract and thank supporters for purchasing clovers.
New this year: A gift card will be given to the club that sales the most clovers during the 2014 Spring Paper
Clover Campaign! Shift slots will be on a first-come, first serve basis. Don’t wait until the last minute to sign up!
Thank you for all you do as 4-H’ers, Parents and Volunteers to support our program. This fundraiser
provides members with opportunities to attend leadership camps, state contests, and supports programming
efforts to educate 4-H and youth on leadership, livestock, and over 40 other available projects.
