I am one of the lucky recipients of a two-volume set of The Kiwanis Legacy by Chuck Jonak. Pete Horton, Executive Di-
rector of Cal-Nev-Ha Kiwanis District, awarded sets to a few members at the January 28, 2010 meeting. Each book covers
a period in Kiwanis history. Book One starts at the very beginning of Kiwanis in 1915 and goes through to the end of the
1950s, and is entitled Building Communities. Book Two starts in 1960 and goes through to the end of 2004, and is enti-
tled Serving the World. There is numerous bits of historical information that we all know and have forgotten, and items
most of us have never known. Each week an item or two will be selected from the books and published in the Club newslet-
ter for improvement of a members knowledge of Kiwanis history.
