DESIGN

The Kitchen Design Process

• The design process is broken down into two separate and often conflicting elements

FUNCTION v AESTHETICS

FUNCTION

• Step .1 Needs Analysis Your brief to the designer will determine how succesful

your kitchen is

• Step .2 Space Limitations Can you move / remove walls, extend out, change

rooms?

• Step .3 Use zonal principles Building blocks / template for starting your layout

• Step .4 Balance with aesthetics All best designs are a compromise between function &

aesthetics

AESTHETICS

There are three distinct styles in kitchen design and your preference will determine what design rules you apply.
