Kiss Army Argentina exclusive interview with A.L.I.V.E An alltribute to 70's era Kiss

KISS Army Argentina: First of all, thanks a lot for your time with our website and for having the chance to talk about KISS and yourgreat project!

TICHY: Thanks for the interest! I am replying to this after we have done our first two shows at the Whisky on July 24th and then Vegas onJuly 25th. Tonight we play in Costa Mesa at the Tiki Bar. It's Rex's birthday and we are psyched!

RBT: Gracias! Been a member of the KISS Army since age 6, happy to chat to fellow soldiers from around the world :-)

KISS Army Argentina: For what we know, the idea of this tribute originated after your participation in a recent tribute called A

world with heroes. We guess you are all KISS fans, and in this sense, we know that Rex Brown is indeed a fan, as with Panterathey frequently played Cold Gin in the shows of that band, and besides, Vinnie, Paul and Darrel always mentioned KISS as amain influence.

TICHY: KISS was the first band I got into as a kid. For a few years it was all about them as I was also learning how to play drums. PeterCriss's beats were the first I ever learned so he is really my first drum teacher! My dad took me to see KISS at MSG in NYC on the Dynastytour. It changed my life. Bumblefoot was also there! That is crazy that we are now doing this band together! Cool!

RBT: We're all KISS fans from a young age and have been inspired to do what we do now in our own bands because of the inspiration thatstarted as kids listening to KISS. KISS was the first live band I saw as a kid growing up in NYC; I saw them in '79 at Madison Square Garden

Brian was there too, we just didn't meet up until decades later, haha! So when I played Madison Square Garden with Guns N' Roses, as atribute I played Ace's solo from the Alive! album.

KISS Army Argentina: According to your Facebook page we see that there are plans for recording an EP soon; for this EP youhave requested fans to mention their favorite songs, and you specifically mention vintage songs; should we interpret this as the1974/1977 period?

TICHY: Yes, pretty much 74- 78. We talked about the EP. If we have time, which shouldn't be a problem cuz we all have our own studios, Ithink rounding off the 2 songs we did together with a few more would make for a cool EP!

RBT: This band is more about the live albums in that early era that had the most personal impact on us, so I can picture the songs we coverbeing from that era.

KISS Army Argentina: Continuing with the KISS issue, which is the favorite era, member and band album for each of you?

TICHY: I like 74-79. My fave member was Peter. I love Ace's solo record. Paul's is cool. Gene's and Peter's have moments I dug. I likedDynasty and Elder and Creatures. I bought Unmasked and l iked a couple tunes, like Is That You and Torpedo Girl.

RBT: My favorite era is 74 78, it holds a special personal place for me.

KISS Army Argentina: How did each of you become a fan? Which was the first show that each of you attended and which was thelatest?

TICHY: I jumped the gun on this question already as I answered it above! Dynasty! 1979! Madison Square Garden! I was 10 years old!!! My

dad took me! New York City! It was sooooooo killer! Stood in my seat the whole show with the binoculars on in complete disbelief that I wasin the same room as the members of KISS!!!! I then saw the 1st reunion show in '96 at the KROQ Weenie Roast! I loved it!!!

RBT: I was 5 years old and the KISS Alive! album just came out; all the older kids in the neighborhood got the album and I heard it fromthem.

KISS Army Argentina: During their 40 year-career, KISS has undergone many changes in lineup and in musical style, from hardrock in their beginning to a more disco style in Dynasty, and more heavy metal in the Lick it Up era, and a softer style forCrazy Nights. There is KISS for all tastes. Apart from the original era, of which we are all fans, which era would you particularlyhighlight and why?

TICHY: The Dynasty era, cuz it's still close to the 74-78 era...

RBT: Anything that included Bob and Bruce Kulick, two super-talented and very cool guys :-)

KISS Army Argentina: Taking into account that each of you has his personal projects with other bands, would it be correct to saythat this KISS tribute will depend on the free time that the four of you have from your other projects?

ICHY: Yes, if we all have open time together and can get some shows going, it would be fun!

RBT: Absolutely. It all depends on our schedules being coordinated so we're all able to be in the same place at the same time. :-)

KISS Army Argentina: Going back to your Alive An All Star Tribute to KISS, apart from recording an EP, what other plans do youhave for the near future of the band? Do you have any plans for live performances soon?

TICHY: Tonight we are playing our 3rd of 3 dates booked. It's Rex's birthday and we are down in Costa Mesa at the TIKI BAR. We had fun atthe other two shows. We've only booked 3 for now, but we will soon talk about if we have time in the near future for some more shows. Itwould be cool to go to other places around the world with this band!

RBT: The future plan is simple: to get together when we can and play anywhere in the world where there are KISS fans that want to have us.

    :-)

KISS Army Argentina: Regarding live performances, will they be based on the original era? Are there any specific songs that youwould like to perform live? Maybe some great rarities, such as Strange Ways

TICHY: We are drawing mainly from Alive! and Alive II. We have another list of about 15 other songs we may learn and incorporate down theroad. Yes, Strange Ways is great! But for now, being that we all grew up and were inspired by the 74-78 era, we stuck to that as the mainguideline.

RBT: We started with a list of about 40 songs that we knocked down to 20 definite songs, but we had many others on the side Strange

TICHY: To all reading this that dig KISS; hello! If you ever get a chance to see and/or hear us, I hope you dig i t cuz it's a lot of fun! To anyonethat digs what I have done with any of the bands I've been involved with; thank you very much! I love what I do,and I will do it 'til I can't nomore!! Yeah!
