From the data collected to date as a result of the pilots conducted, we have learned that the CLA Pilot Assessment is a powerful experience for teachers, students and administrators. The experience puts into perspective the challenge of moving from teaching and learning that is focused on content knowledge to content application. The delivery of instruction and how students demonstrate success is much different. The power of the experience has driven many staff members, even those who have had what they believed to be appropriate levels of training in preparation for the 2014 roll out of Common Core, have experienced an epiphany of pedagogical change in practice. The Process: Through the use of a pilot test, implemented in a variety of ways, the level of urgency is elevated to change practice. The Adaptive Challenge: How do we change the educational paradigm from the current educational focus on the “what” to the “how”; from content knowledge to content application; moving common c ore theory into practice. http://bit.ly/MsaEsy Lowell Testimonial http://bit.ly/MFIoQx

What Have We Learned?

The Adaptive Challenge:

How do we change the

educational paradigm from

the current educational focus

on the “what” to the “how”;

from content knowledge to

content application; moving

common core theory into

practice.
