Description

Kingspan® Gefinex® Gefitas® PE moisture barriers have

been developed by specialists and prove their

established status every year with a laid surface area of

more than 3 million square metres. There are no

limitations to the choice of floor covering consumers

wish to make. They are installed in accordance with

DIN 18195 Part 4 on top of floor slabs.

A compound consisting of a PE film and a closed-cell

polyethylene foam, which protects the waterproofing

membrane from damage and levels out any

unevenness of the floor at the same time.

Some of the noteworthy features of the Gefitas® PE

moisture barriers include their enormous robustness,

high ductility, extreme temperature flexibility,

very good vapour denseness and their exceptional

chemical resistance. Kingspan® Gefinex® Gefitas® PE

moisture barriers do not contain any softening agents

or other additives, they are bitumen-resistant and

are absolutely safe to use in living spaces and public

buildings such as kindergardens, schools, hospitals, etc.

All Kingspan® Gefinex® Gefitas® system components

are coordinated with one another in such a way that

installation is always safe and simple. The joint strip

R300, the fixing tape, sealant, adhesive, and sealing

tape all have a supportive role to play in ensuring that

the laying process is executed correctly. Our laying

recommendation provides precise details of how the

Kingspan® Gefinex® Gefitas® waterproofing system can

be applied and processed in the best possible way

for any situation.

A moisture barrier prevents moisture from passing via capillary transport processes into the floor construction or

living space and causing detrimental effects as a result. It protects us from any damage to health that could be

caused, for example, from mould formation.

Certifi cations & Standards

The use of Kingspan® Gefi nex® Gefi tas® moisture barriers is regulated in the form of a general German building authority

test certifi cate ('AbP'). In addition, the Kingspan® Gefi nex® Gefi tas® system is also externally monitored by the 'MPA

Braunschweig' and tested for quality standards on an ongoing basis. Kingspan® Gefi nex® Gefi tas® moisture barriers

and vapour barriers are standardised in accordance with DIN EN 13967, classifi ed as fi re class B2 per DIN 4102-1 and

bear the CE mark accordingly. Moreover, the products have been tested for VOCs (volatile organic compounds that can

be harmful to human health) and classifi ed as harmless.

The cost-effective alternative to the 'Kingspan® Gefi nex®

Gefi tas® Original' with a 200 µm PE fi lm. A high-quality product,

'Made in Germany', that forms part of the Kingspan® Gefi nex®

product range. The 200 µm PE fi lm and the 3 mm PE foam are

joined together with a fi rmly bonded lamination.

Product Properties

Extremely resistant to mechanical damage and suitable for

instalment on rough, uneven concrete substrates. An adhesive

tape integrated along the length of the membrane allows for

the sheets to be easily joined up to one another. Low structural

height in the area of overlap.

The original and robust moisture barrier with a 300 µm* PE fi lm.

It is a cutting-edge quality product, 'Made in Germany‘ and

developed by Kingspan Gefi nex GmbH. The 300 µm PE fi lm

and the 3 mm PE foam are joined together with a fi rmly bonded

lamination.

Product Properties

Extremely resistant to mechanical damage and suitable for

PE 3/300 AL

The moisture barrier with an integrated aluminium fi lm for

specialist requirements. The Kingspan® Gefi nex® Gefi tas®

PE 3/300 AL consists of an aluminium fi lm, which is laminated

for protection between a 150 µm PE fi lm and a 3 mm

PE foam layer.

Product Properties

The product is characterised by a high resistance to perforation,

ductility and tensile strength. An adhesive tape integrated along

the length of the membrane allows for the sheets to be easily

joined up to one another.

made from a high-quality, closed-cell 1 mm PE foam and a

400 µm PE laminate layer. This means that a fleece is no longer

required as an additional layer for rough substrates.

The integrated sealing edge means that the sheets can be easily

bonded to one another. Together with the compatible Kingspan®

Gefinex® Gefitas® accessories, air-tightness is ensured for the

vapour-proof and air-tight joints as per the requirements.

PE Dach 1/250 with Sealing Tape

The Kingspan® Gefinex® Gefitas® PE vapour barrier 1/250

consists of a high-quality, closed-cell 1 mm PE foam and a

250 µm PE laminate layer. This means that a fleece is no

longer required as an additional layer for rough substrates.

The integrated sealing edge means that the sheets can be easily

bonded to one another. Together with the compatible Kingspan®

Gefinex® Gefitas® accessories, air-tightness is ensured for the

vapour-proof and air-tight joints as per the requirements.

Areas of Use

For use on flat roofs for preventing the formation of condensation in wood, steel and concrete constructions.

Product Properties

The Kingspan® Gefinex® Gefitas® PE vapour barriers 1/250 and 1/400 have a high resistance to perforation, as well as a high level of

ductility and tensile strength. They are also penetration-proof making them safe to walk on.

They do not contain any softening agents or other harmful additives.

System Joint Strip R300 has been specially developed to

ensure that the Kingspan® Gefi nex® Gefi tas® moisture barrier is

conjoined to the outer wall barrier or rising structural elements

('white tank') in the proper and correct manner. With the R300,

the inner and outer corners can be formed. It also serves as a

way of securing the moisture barrier.

System Joint Strip R300 Plus has been specially developed to

ensure that the Kingspan® Gefi nex® Gefi tas® moisture barrier is

conjoined to the outer wall barrier or rising structural elements

('white tank') in the proper and correct manner. The R300 Plus

also features a 10 mm � anking insulation strip in order to form

the perimeter edge around the � oor screed.

Fixing Tape is a highly elastic and malleable butyl adhesive tape

for the formation of corners, as well as to ensure additional wa-

terproofi ng from any possible permeations, e.g. supports, pipes,

etc., to repair any apertures and link up the short-end joints of

the membrane sheets.

Sealing Tape is ideally suited for the joining of Kingspan®

Gefi nex® Gefi tas® waterproofi ng membranes to the outer wall

barrier and for linking up the short-end joints of the membrane

sheets.

Adhesive in the cartridge guarantees that it can be applied

precisely and simply when joining the waterproofi ng membrane

to the outer wall barrier and when linking up the short-end joints

of the membrane sheets.
